Looking at the context of the verse in question:
Gen 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (ESV)
Notice that God goes from using plural to using singular and never mentions that man was created in the image of Earth. This would imply the Trinity, not that man is somehow created in after the image of Earth. Not to mention the difference in language relating to when God commands the earth to bring forth something and when he speaks of creating man. Similarly, we always use personal pronouns such as "us" and "our" to refer to others like us or at least to animals, not to dirt, trees, books, or computers.
It is very simple Free.
Gen 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.
Us = Spirit and Dust = "Living Soul".
This is in agreement with Solomon. Not only that, but how many times are we refereed to as dust or clay?
Let us continue.
And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image.
This is speaking of
And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
No other creature has the above ability except man and God.
