Yeah, if his repentance was real, I believe he was forgiven and if he had accepted the gift of salvation, he will go on to be with the Lord. But that doesn't mean we are to listen to anything he said in life or to recommend anything of his to our brothers and sisters. Sin can be forgiven, but many times there are still earthly consequences to it.

Looks like the same thing in either version to me. Actually, all of the versions I checked (about 18 of them) all said the same thing. Seems there's no disagreement even among translators as to the meaning here. I just didn't include Verse 20 because I was trying to be as nice as possible.

Not everyone who say they are christians or catholic or what ever they claim to be will enter into gods kingdom gary. DO not be fooled. many pastors u see on tv and in churches and many church goers u see will not enter into gods kingdom.

They think they will but they will not. Even some people on here not all of the people on here who say jesus jesus or im christian or jew or etc will enter into gods kingdom.

There are SIGNS for gods chosen. What are the signs?

Many members of this forum and of churches and of majority of christains can not under stand john 15 verse 18-21 because it did not happen to them

What ever happened to jesus will happen to them who he chosed. Many christians did not get beat in churches as jesus said they would beat his people in the synagoges.

many christians did not get betrayed to death by their own brother as did jesus.
many christians have normal lives friends etc wives and the sorrow they have may be my husband or wife is cheating or money problems or they may be alil sick.
why because they are of the world.

they did not get treated by bishops and high spiritual leaders of this world as jesus did.

A mockery? because his prophecy failed? Dont u know the word of god is scorned and dispised? and mocked.

What would u have said to jonus did not his prophecy failed for niveah? the people did not know how god spoke to him but they all believed. would u have been that one man to laugh and scorn jonus because what he said did not happen because the people repented?

His word wasn't God's Word. He attempted to do something that couldn't be verified in the scriptures. He took it upon himself to prove the bible wrong and it backfired on him. In the end he realized his folly and repented. That should tell you something.
