Is it Wrong to Think About Hell All the Time?

I think we wage a meaningless battle to insist the weeping and gnashing of the damned won't be literally endured for an eternity, but just for a space of time. Especially since we do not know how long they will have to endure it.

Those verses do not say "People send themselves to hell". Look at them yourself. Hell is not even in the verses you quoted.
Please do not be divisive. Please do not be divisive.
Is it really that hard to just admit you misunderstand the argument?????

The question is, now that you've been shown what the argument actually is, will you continue to misunderstand it and misrepresent it?

A meaningless battle, we are at war with the forces of darkness Jethro.. why do you call this a space of time?

"they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

I don't know if the torment of the damned continues forever, or if 'eternal' simply means the damnation of the lost is irreversible. There are good scriptures on both sides of the argument. Perhaps more on the side of the eventual obliteration of the damned. But still, a horrible conscious torment of the damned before that, nevertheless.

It does no good to argue that the conscious suffering of hell is for a time, or for an eternity. The point is Jesus said there is the punishment of the damned, and it is real, and it is ugly. You don't want that T-shirt. That's really all people need to know.

Why don't you know, we should all know when Jesus says "they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."

It isn't a pretty picture, it wasn't meant to be why do you think Jesus said to preach the gospel, he came and suffered that punishment so that we wouldn't have to..

Who rules in hell?
god, as he is the creator and punisher of those that do evil. where is the verse that satan reigns in hell? I don't recall one on that. that wouldn't be a punishement for him if he had a place where he could torture and not be tortured himself.

Your trying to teach another gospel Timothy and its not the gospel of Jesus Christ..
You're mistaken. Jesus said exactly what I am saying, which is why I believe it.
Jesus said "the gate is wide that leads to destruction" and "fear the one who is able to destroy both body and soul".

In answer to my own original question (anyone remember that? :lol :rolleyes ) I've come to the conclusion that it's OK for me to think about Hell as much as I do. It's a reminder to keep forgiving the person who ruined my life and is himself unrepentant. There are many in Hell who are there because they declined to forgive. I'm not going to wind up like those people.
