Can anyone find a verse from the Bible were Jesus(peace be upon him) has said "I am God" or where he says, "worship me"?
Dear friend, Jesus said, I believe in John's Gospel, "Unless ye believe that I AM He, ye shall die in your sins." So, yes, Jesus did claim to be God. In the same Gospel, ISTM, if I am remembering rightly which Gospel this is in, JESUS SAID: "Before Abraham was, I AM". In Erie Scott H.:praying:nod

When John wrote his first epistle, a heretical teaching was circulating in the church to the effect that Jesus was not a man, that Jesus was ''not God''....Very much like today...In fact the Gospel of John was to combat the gnostics of the day as well.... This heresy became known as docetism. So serious was this denial of truth about Christ, that John could say it was a doctrine of the antichrist

“By this you know the Spirit of God every spirit which confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit which does not confess Jesus is not of God. This is the spirit of antichristâ€Â.

The apostle John understood that to deny Jesus’ true humanity and deity was to deny something at the very heart of Christianity, so that no one who denied that Jesus had come in the flesh was sent from God....

If you take the time to systematically stsudy New Testament, you will see several reasons why Jesus had to be fully man if he was going to be the Messiah and earn our salvation....In fact this would be a good time to look at some of those things....

Would anybody like to take a shot at what some of those things are....?

Friend, TRUE. AMEN. Scott Harrington Erie PA :praying

And you HONESTLY believe that the scripture above IS stating that ANYONE that does not confess who YOU believe Christ to be is anti-Christ?

What I read above would indicate that 'trinity' is anti-Christ. For 'trinitarians' are the ones that appear to deny that Christ came in the flesh and instead insist that it was God.

I KNOW that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. No doubts in my mind or heart. And I KNOW that He was SENT by God. Yet this scripture above says NOTHING of a 'need' to believe in some 'man-made' doctrine in order avoid being called 'anti-Christ'.

Just more 'man-made' misrepresentation of scripture, IMHO. For what you have offered above sounds MORE like it would pertain to 'trinitarianism' than those that DO accept that Christ came in the flesh.

Dear Imagican, Are you a Jehovah's Witness. Witnesses deny the Trinity.
They also preach man-made doctrines. They teach Christ dissolved into gasses after His resurrection, and He did not rise bodily from the dead. They preach Christ is the Archangel Michael. They preach Christ came invisibly first in 1875 AD, and then later in 1914 AD. They changed their mind about 1875 AD, and then changed their teaching to 1914 AD. They said that everyone alive in 1914 AD would see Armageddon and the second coming of the kingdom of "JEHOVAH" (sic). They also said the world would end in 1975 AD. False prophets always claim that the Trinity is a doctrine inspired by satan. It is these Jehovah's Witness false prophecies that are satanic. As are the prophecies of the Church of Jesus Christ (sic) of Latter-day Saints (MORMONS). The LDS are also a cult and they don't believe in the Trinity. Every cult denies the Trinity, and claims infallibility for their leaders, whether Charles Taze Russell, or Joseph Smith, Jr. In Erie PA Scott Harrington:praying

Just a reminder Scotth that this is an old thread and many of these people are not here anymore. But no, Imagican was not a JW. :)

If, by “worship,†you mean “grovel,†the Lord does not want us to grovel to him. He just wants us to acknowledge what he does for us.

As for calling himself God, I believe Jesus was God in flesh. But God was much more than just a man, and I am not aware of Jesus calling himself God. However, the Bible says this:

[16] Simon Peter replied, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
[17] And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jona! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven. Matt 16:16-17 RSV

Dear friends, No one can say "Christ is LORD" except by the Spirit of God. So says the NT, I believe St. Paul's epistle (one of them). Somewhere in St. Paul. q.v.

I skimmed through this entire thread and I hope guest is still following. I'm surprised that nobody pointed out this scripture passage from John 14. I saw part of it but not all of it.

6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7 If you really know me, you will know[b] my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.â€
8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.†9 Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

When I read this passage I sense a little sarcasm in Jesus' reply. To paraphrase it as I hear it would be, "Come on Philip. Get with it. I'm pitchin' and you're not catchin'!"
