wow, as much as I like the tos, there is a lot of good plots and books about that time frame. I read one back in September. yes they still have fan fiction, books for st:tos and all the others. its time to go into the whole picture of what is star trek.

a little trivia for the uss.enterprise ncc 1701, constitution class. if the either the saucer or engineering deck were to lose each other in battle. they could function as two ships if they are wholly intact and separated at the connection. the saucer section decks has its own main bridge and enginnering and the engineering section has the auxiliary bridge and both sections have warp and impulse drives.

that is why the ncc 1701d had the separating hull deal and both its components could do the same.
That is cool, but allen, I mean, Rollo :rolleyes, would have us flogged if we talked about this.

God is busy testifying through the Spirit to the risen Christ:

"It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
...the testimony of God is this, that He has testified concerning His Son.
10 The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son." (1 John 5:6,9-10 NASB)

He is not busy testifying that the earth is round. But he is supplying faith through his word for us to know and believe that what was made was made from nuttin':

"3 By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible." (Hebrews 11:3 NASB)

I know that Jesus is speaking to the disciples here, but we can see how we also will testify just as the Spirit testifies:

26 "When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me, 27 and you will testify also, because you have been with Me from the beginning." (John 15:26-27 NASB)

If you look back at the OP, you'll see that I never said I thought the world was flat.
I just took that side so we could discuss the issue.
But I did say that we believe that Jesus is alive.
And in this thread, people haven't found that to be as interesting to talk about.
Why is that?

You asked what the difference was between the two beliefs, and I've tried to address that twice, but you've replied to neither of those posts. Why is that?

And the Spirit does testify, and is testifying through you now.

Why? Because there is this great chasm between Linux and Windows and no one can go from one side to the other, but can only look across that chasm. Even if Bill Gates died and rose from the dead that chasm would remain.

I think if this is what you wanted to talk about, perhaps you should have titled the thread "Why do we believe Jesus is alive" rather than "Is the Earth Flat". It seems to me like you used the title as an attention getter but it backfired on you.
Backfired?
Nine pages and 160 posts over two years?
No, I don't think it backfired.
