That is cool, but allen, I mean, Rollowow, as much as I like the tos, there is a lot of good plots and books about that time frame. I read one back in September. yes they still have fan fiction, books for st:tos and all the others. its time to go into the whole picture of what is star trek.
a little trivia for the uss.enterprise ncc 1701, constitution class. if the either the saucer or engineering deck were to lose each other in battle. they could function as two ships if they are wholly intact and separated at the connection. the saucer section decks has its own main bridge and enginnering and the engineering section has the auxiliary bridge and both sections have warp and impulse drives.
that is why the ncc 1701d had the separating hull deal and both its components could do the same.
