is the end nigh?

Rollo you didn't notice how evil the world has become? I think he gave us every opportunity to stop what is happening but we didn't do that instead we made the world worse.So now it must end.just my opinion.

I do not think we can stop what is happening.Read Scripture.Even the secular world recognizes how bad our world has become.

Why didn't you just ask that Rollo, instead of the "arm twisting" No you're right I'm not looking for some eternal reward from any god. I'm here to learn Rollo, so I can understand the 2.4 billion christians I live with on this earth.

That's a new one for me.
You have a chip on your shoulder.
And you're not being honest with yourself as to why you are here.
Either that, or your doing some sort of research paper, in which case you are deceiving us all.

Rollo I'm a 9th grade drop out, I have never had any higher education. No, I'm not writing a paper on this.
 
In practice im a 5th grade drop out.thats when I stopped really learning I made it to the 10th just because in my state if a teacher fails someone they have to have them in the class again the next year, In retrospect my mental illness made me kinda a trouble maker so they didn't want that. But in my uneducated opinion God wants those that are and have been faithful. Living a life of sin and turning to God when you have nowhere else to turn isn't faithful. Turning to God because the end is obviously near after living a life of sin isn't faithful. Thats opportunism.I believe (and keep in mind im kinda screwy in the head) that YES God is gathering as many souls as he can but its first about the QAULITY of the souls befor the QUANTITY.Im not one that see's the Bible as a fairytale book I think it is very rational, I also think it was written for those that did not know of Jesus Christ and his wisdom.In our current state as a species we've had hundreds of years to practice the virtues that God gave us to ascend to another level but we haven't. Its only those virtues that separate us from the other animals that he created, virtues like self conltrol, self respect, introspection, etc. . Other animals have virtue also(wolves come to mind) yet they dont have the mental capacity to progress as a species beyong their survival instincts.We do. Yet rather than PROgress weve REgressed.weve let our primal instinct take over in the violence and lust we live in.Its obvious when you consider that its not safe to go anywher by yourself anymore in a sizable community.Thats pack mentality which was selected by God to be done away with along with the dinosaurs and huge animals that MADE IT necessary to live in a pack just for survival.Once that necessity for pack mentality was gone it made way for individualism which leads to introspection and that leads to virtue.We are not practicing the virtuea God has given us so we gotta go.Thank You Lord For The blessing I Am About To Receive.

This statement looks to me like you and poetofparables do not see eye to eye.I do not know why.I have had a couple of PM's with poet and from observing his posts it seems like he is just curious.What if he is doing some sort of research paper?What is that going to hurt?I think you are seeing more than is there.

I don't believe it is necessary or appropriate to wonder why anyone chooses to be on this forum. The fact that PoP is here is sufficient that he has an interest in Christianity, and for that every Christian can be thankful. The majority of the world has no interest in Christ or Christianity. So that's a plus for Poet. Stick around PoP and you may discover what you need to know. God is longsuffering and merciful and He knows you better than you know yourself.
 
Maybe PoP just has the common sense to assess something before taking part.If you ask me blind faith is going to get a whole lot of people in big trouble.Many people think that God is such a nice guy that they can live their lives in contradiction to the Bible and still be admitted to His Kingdom.

You too? I failed 7th, but then passed in Summer school. Failed 8th, but Summer school saved me again. Failed 9th. This time Summer school didn't do it, (I goofed off there, too), so I had to start 9th again. But it was too much being in with the little kids when all my friends had moved on to High School. So, I quit, period.

I soon went back to night school and got my GED within a few months, then I enrolled for a degree in Civil Architecture. That was much easier than regular school... got through school a couple of years faster, too. A big bonus to the boredom of normal classrooms.

Would I be redeemed if I told you I left it all behind to become a General Contractor, building mainly, custom homes?
