yea, but rome is the controlloing seat or the epicenter of it ALL. He is a 2 horned devil. the horns represent powers, one is political and the other is ecclesiastical or religious. he will control both political and religious powers or you can say he combines both church and state which the pope by the unholy roman catholic church has done. we know that all the kindoms of the world belong to satan until the end and to unite the church with politics is like uniting god with the devil and you just can't do it. by the roman catholic church uniting with politics shows who her true master is and controls her-the devil and rome is the seat of satan
Hi kingdavid,
It’s not the pope or the catholic church (or any other existing church or leader). The false messiah
"will exalt himself over everything that is called God" (including the catholic church) by means of the miracles he has power to do (2 Thessalonians 2:4; Revelation 13:14). The false messiah will eradicate
ALL of the religions in the world,
including the papacy, to establish his one-world religion. The king of
the north in Daniel 11:36 and the stern-faced king that comes out of the north in Daniel 8 are the
same power. The papacy cannot meet
ALL of the requirements and conditions that go with the horn power of Daniel 8. A study of Revelation 9 and Revelation 13:11-18, will show the false messiah (antichrist, false prophet, etc.), the physical appearing of Satan with 200,000,000 of his angels (Fifth Trumpet), to be the only solution that satisfies ALL of the specifications for this spurious messiah in the books of Daniel and Revelation. The Bible is not internally inconsistent or contradictory. ALL requirements and conditions must align, from ALL the books of the Bible! You can’t just go with some theory because it is convenient and looks good. The pre-trib rapture theory began the same way in 1830, and now this dangerous teaching has convinced half of all Christians to receive the first messiah that arrives on the scene. Unfortunately, it’s the wrong messiah; and they unknowingly worship Satan, thinking he is Jesus come to rapture them away. So be careful; and be sure to fill your lamp with enough oil (study hard with prayer).
Back to the topic; historically, it seems likely that the little horn of Daniel 7 rises out of the Roman empire. The horn power of Daniel 8 however
does not derive its strength from Rome or
ANY nation. The horn power in Daniel 8 is a power unto itself. It appears out of one of the four winds, from the
NORTH!
Why the north? Because in the Bible the direction of north is always associated with divine destruction.
Ezekiel 38: 14-16 "Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: In that day, when my people Israel are living in safety, will you not take notice of it? You will come from your place in the far north, you and many nations with you, all of them riding on horses, a great horde, a mighty army. You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud that covers the land. In days to come, O Gog, I will bring you against my land, so that the nations may know me when I show myself holy through you before their eyes.’ "
Jeremiah 6:22,23 "This is what the Lord says: ‘Look, an army is coming from the land of the north; a great nation is being stirred up from the ends of the Earth. They are armed with bow and spear; they are cruel and show no mercy. They sound like the roaring sea as they ride on their horses; they come like men in battle formation to attack you, O Daughter of Zion.’ "
Jeremiah 25:9 " ‘I will summon all the peoples of the north and my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy them and make them an object of horror and scorn, and an everlasting ruin.’ "
Jeremiah 46:13,20,21 "This is the message the Lord spoke to Jeremiah the prophet about the coming of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to attack Egypt. . . Egypt is a beautiful heifer, but a gadfly is coming against her from the north. The mercenaries in her ranks are like fattened calves. They too will turn and flee together, they will not stand their ground, for the day of disaster is coming upon them, the time for them to be punished."
Jeremiah 50: 2,3 "Announce and proclaim among the nations, lift up a banner and proclaim it; keep nothing back, but say, ‘Babylon will be captured; Bel will be put to shame, Marduk filled with terror. Her images will be put to shame and her idols filled with terror.’ A nation from the North will attack her and lay waste her land. No one will live in it; both men and animals will flee away."
The location of "north" is very significant to Satan, its where he always desired to be (to be like the most High). Concerning Satan (Lucifer), the Lord said,
"For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into Heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High." (Isaiah 14:13,14)
Satan (Lucifer) wanted (still wants) to be “like the most Highâ€Â. “The sides of the north," refers to the location of God’s throne. Satan will have his short-lived time to play God when he descends from the north (heaven) when the Fifth Trumpet blows and he convinces most of the world he is the messiah. The false messiah is not the pope, or the Catholic Church, or any other powerful human being, religious organization, or nation. You’re thinking
WAY too small. This one coming is none other than Lucifer, the prince of darkness himself, pretending to be God, and convincing most that he is! If you think it’s going to be some pope or other person from the catholic church, or a president, or earthly king, etc., you are in no way mentally prepared for the likes of the false messiah. You’ll be easy prey.
2 Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above ALL that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
