is there hope for america

i meant it to be, but i'll add this to the christian. Is there a turning from the sin and debauchery in amercia, to the nonbeliever will the madness of left vs right ever end?

My answer to the first, only god can do this, the second question,no I wish there could be a middle ground, in some areas yes, but the left and some of the right have accepted the gay rights, and the christians wont allow that, so the fight will continue with no compromise.

For jesus came not in peace but with a sword.

No, not until the return of Jesus. Man is always talking about how to make this place better, how are you going to do that without God. Man is always talking about stamping out crime, man ain't got that type of power. No there is no hope for America, I wish this country was a Theocracy. Don't know what a Theocracy is ? Ok look below.

Theocracy is a form of government in which a god or deity is recognized as the state's supreme civil ruler,[1] or in a broader sense, a form of government in which a state is governed by immediate divine guidance or by officials who are regarded as divinely guided.[2] In Common Greek, “theocracy†means a rule [kra′tos] by God [the.os′]. For believers, theocracy is a form of government in which divine power governs an earthly human state, either in a personal incarnation or, more often, via religious institutional representatives (i.e., a church), replacing or dominating civil government.[3] Theocratic governments enact theonomic laws.

Theocracy should be distinguished from other secular forms of government that have a state religion, or are merely influenced by theological or moral concepts, and monarchies held "By the Grace of God".

A theocracy may be monist in form, where the administrative hierarchy of the government is identical with the administrative hierarchy of the religion, or it may have two 'arms,' but with the state administrative hierarchy subordinate to the religious hierarchy.

Theocratic tendencies have been found in several religious traditions including Judaism, Islam, Confucianism, Hinduism, and among Christianity: Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Protestantism, and Mormonism. Historical examples of Christian theocracies are the Byzantine Empire[citation needed](A.D. 330-1453) and the Carolingian Empire (A.D. 800-888).

You want the United States to be like Iran? In your perfect country would we have roving bands of religious police patrolling the streets to stone adulterers, homosexuals, and others you don't like to death? :screwloose

No not like Iran, just a Christian run country with a lot of love for everyone.

Sure. I already can't buy whiskey on Sunday because of over zealous Christian lawmakers. I like my church and state separate. If we were a theocracy we would be burning witches again in no time.

No I am not talking about burning folks, just a loving christian Theocracy. Can't buy booze on Sunday, well you live in the wrong state, and I am not promoting it being a ex alcoholic. So you don't want the country run by Jesus ?

No I don't want the country run by Jesus. Since Jesus is dead he can't run it anyway, unless he was a zombie. I also don't want it run by people claiming to be Jesus. Mmkay theocracy is bad.

Who am I? I mean I know who I am, but I'm curious who you think I am.

Its been tried several times. It doesn't work. War with nations that aren't christian would spring up fast. Considering that the Crusades, Spanish inquisition, and the Invasion of Israel by France where all done by Christian nations.

I can dream, can't I ?

You made that statement that Jesus is dead, that makes me know who and what you are, those types of statements will not be tolerated on this board. This is a Christian website and we promote the living God Jesus Christ.

Jesus died on the cross. Says so right in the bible. If he is in heaven he still counts as dead. He sure isn't here on earth.

He is not dead, He defeated death, He held, and still holds death captive, death is under His rule. Jesus is not under the rule of death.

If Jesus is in heaven with all the rest of the dead people why doesn't he count as dead? Seems like just semantics.
