It's Snowing!

I've been saying for the last couple of months that we'd get snow before Halloween.

It started snowing about an hour ago.

Nein, das ist kein Hundewetter. Du bist einfach ein Weichei.

(Let's see what google translator makes of that...)

:lol

lassen Sie es schneien
lassen Sie es schneien

the reason we call them snowbirds is because they leave during the winter months and leave during our summer months so that they never actually see much of any cold weather.i don't care for snow. I live slept in it. I have pics of it when I was in Afghanistan and it starts snowing over there in the later weeks of august. the higher elevation will start showing peaks

Afghanistan and the deserts I have been to have NOTHING on the summer heat. 130f with 60% humidity is nothing compare to 100f with 99% humidity at noon
We have snow on Pikes Peak right now but no snow in the city yet.

I hear you. The population of Florida would go way down if A/C had never been invented, lol. Vegas would be a ghost town too!

the building in my avatar was in hey day (prior 1920, and it has a telegraph line). yet they did come. we had what was called florida windows and up to the early 70's. the school system had no ac in it at all. It was considered a waste of money to put them in.

An interesting thing is that most mid and Southern Florida towns were laid out so that most of the houses could be built facing either North or South so that the prevailing winds could blow all the way through the center of the house that was built to give "flow thru" ventilation.

that is true. I will look for that pattern again. the older homes will be facing that way.in fact I know some that do. the oldest home does even though that isn't it first locale. others that are of that age do as well.

I can't help it. If the sun does not shine all day, I feel depressed.

Really. I didn't know that. Makes sense.

A/C Trivia time: The White House was the first air conditioned structure in America. And from what I've heard, the military uses Carrier equipment on their airplanes, and even the space shuttle.

those home have bigger then normal windows and have the living in the center of the best path of the air to travel and the rooms are off from that . that makes them easy to find. that and they tend to be wood homes and stucco.
