It's Time For That question Again

LOL Lewis and Potluck

I learn best in the dark hehe

Off Topic: Seriously I would go into my closet as a teen. I had a huge walk in closet. I would take my guitar in there, close the door so I could not see the fret board. I been playing for 18yrs now.. It has done me well hehe

On Topic: I was told that the farmers at the time were also gathering in their harvest during the time of Jesus' Birth. That would also be fall time; any references to that claim?

Atone' this is off topic, and I am saying this ' in passing' but I am a drummer who plays a little guitar' I have a Fender Strat Atone' but anyway playing with out looking gives you great feel. Because you tend to reach' when you don't look. With a occasional glance' to see where you are on the fret board. I learned that from Hendrix and the dreaded Tony Iommi.

Maybe we should start a topic about this in Christian Music. We are Christians, and it is music hehe. I've learned alot of thing along the way, including many bloody finger tips from playing for 10hrs at a straight time.

You are correct sir, it's no fun. For me at least, it now seems pretty clear that the Lord left a trail to His birth in Luke. Why this escaped Rome is beyond me. Maybe they thought they would "bury the evidence" so to speak in lieu of choosing Dec. 25th. so they could "convert" pagens into their now official religion. There's strength in numbers, it's been said. ;-)

You have my interest.

"so they could "convert" pagens into their now official religion"

You talking about Constantine or Rome today?

so they could "convert" pagens into their now official religion.

Do you mean schedule Christmas to coincide with a pagan holiday for better chances of conversion?
That would make sense.

Now you're getting somewhere, Atone.

Past tense. Actually, I believe it was Pope Julius I.

so they could "convert" pagens into their now official religion.
Now, as is, back then.

Yeah, something like that. :-D

Hmm, Lewis is hmmming. 8-)

Very interesting.

simple.
You know? If Mythbusters tested that I believe it'd be ruled a strong "plausible".
:-D

Did you know that some Biblical historians from way back when believed Dec. 25th. (roughly 24 Kislev) was possibly the date of conception? Add nine months to that. 8-)

Well isn't that what the Catholics did ? I am not trying to start a Catholic debate. But that is my understanding' of what went down. It started out as Christ-Mass. Compromising with the heathen' to bring more converts. And as a way of keeping them happy. And not in a uproar. So the pope allowed things like the Tree to come along with them. Am I right or wrong ? This is what I learned years ago about this subject

It doesn't matter to me when he was born. That's not important.

I'm just thankful that he WAS born. I'm thankful for all that he was and still is. That is what is important to me.

I am glade that He was born too. But I like the study of these type things.

Just for those who believes that Jesus answers questions when we ask them:

When I was a kid, I asked Him once if it bothered Him that we celebrate His birthday on December 25, if it was not really His birthday. He asked me if it bothered me that I celebrate my birthday on XX when it is not really my birthday. ( I don't know my real birth date). I giggled and said no, and He said that it does not bother Him either. He loves any attention that He gets from His people.

He did tell me when it was, but I can't remember the answer. (It was over 40 years ago that I asked it). Perhaps if we all asked Him now, He would tell us....

Lord Jesus,
We are having this discussion in the forum about what date your birthday actually is. You know who your children are in here. Would you put an end to the guessing game that we are playing and tells us what day you were born? I am eager to see if all of your children truly hear your voice, and all receive and accept the same answer from you. I thank you Lord for answers to prayer, for I pray it in your name. Amen

I was also told is was in the fall, but its never really been proven..
There are actually three Hebrew Festivals in the Fall: Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah), Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur), and Tabernacles (Sukkoth). They say that Jesus will come for His Church, then He will return with His church. So if there is a second and a third coming, then the first was most likely the Feast of Tabernacles.
