Jehovah's Witnesses and other Cults

This board is infiltrated with Jehovah's Witnesses' and other cults doing their best to confuse the Christian.

Christians beware, just because this is a Christian BBS, doesn't mean everyone here are Christians. Furthermore the Jehovah Witnesses in not a Christian belief, although they like to make people think they are, they are in fact a cult. You must study God's word so you can identify false teachers, preachers.

John 8:7 (Young's Literal Translation)

Seriously, though, accusations of a religion, church, or different beliefs beings cults or cultic can easily get out of hand. Too many people are way too judgmental about other's beliefs. Even worse, most who accuse know too little and sometimes nothing about what they are opposed to.

Most people *apparently* don't know what a cult is, or even that it is not really a "bad" thing(by definition.)

That is not to say dangerous cults do not exist....But I am saying that most 'christians/churchs' do not attack the dangerous "cults", they harass the christians or churchs that do not hold to some certain same beliefs as they do.

Pride is the problem.
I know of no one who is humble about what they beleive. If anyone is going to start labeling "cults", they need to study....really hard, first.

Too many people are worried about others when they have HUGE problems in there own personal life that need to be resolved.....

THERE ARE PLENTY JW'S THAT LOVE GOD AND THEIR NEIGHBOR AS THEMSELVES AND LIVE IN A CHRISTLIKE MANNER!

The only one....What are you talking about? Pride is sinful, I was just pinpointing what sin in particular is the problem.

Maybe you you should listen to the online messages I posted before you open mouth and insert feet.... Oh thats okay, they weren't really meant for the Jehovah Witnesses anyway, they were meat for the Christians your trying to confuse. In any case, thanks for your comments. They indicate just who I need to add to my ignore lists!! I suspect you guys will be crawling out of the woodwork.

Why is it so important to convert others to YOUR way of thinking?

Do you personally know of JW's with bad fruit?

Are YOU free from sinful tendencies and have the spiritual capacity to attack other faiths?

Is creed more important than Deed?

No attacking here or "confucion" as you say, just honest questions on your MOTIVE for this post!

Many times DOUBT of ones own faith is made manifest in the attack on the "other" group.

Anyways take care and this IS an interesting topic.....

I'm not trying to convert the Jehovah Witnesses', I'm just trying to alert and educate those "babes in Christ" (the young Christians) on this BBS that you and so many other Jehovah's Witnesses' are working so diligently in trying to confuse.
 
JWs are a cult, plain and simple. The reason is because they reject most of the doctrines that define precisely what a Christian is. The writings of the NT make it clear that we are to defend the gospel and be on the constant lookout for those claiming to have the truth but preach another Christ and another gospel.

I have stated several times on these forums, and never received any rebuttal, that if there is no orthodoxy in Christianity, if there is no "right belief," then there is no such thing as Christianity or a follower of Christ; Jesus becomes whoever we want him to be and we can believe whatever we want, it really doesn't matter.
 
If it is any consilation,

one time I thought about turning the garden house on those door to door religious salemen!

I just felt sorry for them having to ride their bikes around town in the heat! 8-)

The Bike Riders are Mormans (Their a cult also) But that's another thread, this thread is about Jehovah's Witnesses, they don't ride a bike, they just walk from door to door. BTW, both groups are going to wish they had a garden hose some day.
 
Certainly we can discuss this without insulting one another?

DarckMarck never claimed to be a JW and he never defended the JW doctrine. He simply disagrees with the church's quickness to label something a cult when it's teachings do not align with their own. I also think certain denominations are quick to label others a "cult" or "heretic", but that does not mean that the god I serve is pride or sin...and it certainly does not make me a JW.

Please read what he actually wrote instead of automatically assuming he is something he's not. Thank you.

I'm not "automatically assuming anything, I'm just stating the facts. The Bible says no man comes to the Father without the son. If you don't believe in the deity of God the Father, Christ, His Son, and the Holy Spirit then you have not or can not become a Christian, it's just that simple. Therefore without Christ, you will spend an eternanity in hell after death. Just because the Jehovah Witness doesn't believe hell exists, doesn't make it less of a fact,

It is impossible to be saved when you believe Jesus to be nothing more then Michael the Archangel. After all, we Saints will judge the angels. Are you then telling me that we will judge the Lord almighty? No, the JW's are a cult and do not carry a saving message. They do not accept the true and living God and do not understand what the message of redemption is.

Yeah, so then why would you feel the need to ignore him? or ask which god he served? He never denied any of those things.

I'm sure marck can defend himself, I just think we should be able to discuss the issues, rather than each other.

Well why don't you let him "defend" himself then? Darck implied that I didn't know what I was talking about and that cults weren't "a bad thing" or dangerous.

It certainly sounds like he is defending the JW to me with that statement! I consider any cult to be dangerous which leads people away from Christ, or perverts the gospel in such a way as the JW do.

Darck also appears to be defending the JW by considering them "Christian" he said:

Darck is apparently defending the JW with that statement. First of all, the JW is not Christian, secondly, we're not talking about a minor difference in beliefs such as the mode of baptism, or whether one speaks in tongs, we're talking about the basic principle of being born again.

So yes, I suggest you spend your two cents more wisely.
