now you are really beginning to dig......that is a great question you have asked

"you need to ask yourself how you can tell the difference between hot and cold"

I have thought about this question a fair bit myself......and I have come to see it in two ways........either we eat of the tree of Knowledge of Good and bad or.......we 'know' the right thing is to trust God and be spared having to deal with all that is connected with the other choose.

It keeps coming back to trust.....
