jobs that a christian shouldn't do

Might consider this verse when asking about serving in the military;

(Luk 3:14) And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.

BTW: To those that have served, thank you.

Is it lawful for Jews to sell pork to Gentiles?

Do you want to put Jews or Gentiles under the law?
It's a simple question. Why would you think that I want to put ppl under the law?

I repeat, is it considered okay for Jews to sell pork to Gentiles?

Certainly there are some jobs a Christian shouldn't do. I would say any job that entails taking advantage of the weak and causing them harm. Getting people hooked into crooked financial deals that they can't escape. Getting people addicted to drugs. Prostitution or brothel owner or manager.

Well, it's interesting that some people years ago put the big banks into the same category as the owners of houses of ill repute.

I wouldn't want to go too far down that road, though.

well yes, drunkeness is a sin. you're not encouraging it. In fact if, as a bartender you conclude that a patron is drunk, you can by law refuse to give them any more alcohol. In Australia that's a bartender's responsibility and I think it's a law as well.

EDIT: In fact, bartenders have to pass a Responsible Service to Alcohol course to get their liscence. They're actually not allowed by law to serve you alcohol if they think your are intoxicated.[/quote:20yyfgof]

In america they have a similiar law but in aa(alcoholic anomynos) they give u a white chip as token to your journey to sobriety, an alcoholic can turn that card in any bar for a free round cause the bartenders knows that he or she will be back to spend far more, in New Orleans while underage drinking is illegal on bourbon street that quite common place, so if you are christian how many bars or clubs are u going to work, btw to get a dui in most states the limit .08 any many drunks can function at that level so how are u going to tell all the time, u will with expereince but as a christian do u want to live with that fact that u indirectly are a cause of a dui or accident.

Nick, have u ever been in bar or club is that a good enviroment to work in, as a ministry i see a witness but i wouldnt advise a vocation, think about the smoking the cursing, the fighting, what the gay bars or the strip clubs most of those serve alcohol, Nick i'm not talking about restaurants here, but about clubs and the like, to clarify myself.

The part I put in bold is simply not true at all.

I believe William Booth held religious services in taverns.
