Judge Judy

the person or the show.

i know she is jewish and doesnt follow the torah, by this i mean no real torah believing jew would support gay rights. yes there those jews that are consertive and dont believe in gay marriage.

Does Judge Judy support gay rights?

If she does, the argument goes that the legislative branch of government is supposed to be writing laws, while the judicial branch is supposed to make sure they get interpreted and applied fairly and justly...whatever they may be. That would be a tough place to be in for a Christian.

But as for Judge Judy...I hope I NEVER have to be at the mercy of such a judge. I know it's all just for entertainment purposes and so it has to be over the top, but I don't think she listens fairly, calmly, and without partiality. She lacks essential Judeo-Christian character traits (patience, etc.) that would make an effective and fair judge.

she is for then as a voter and suggests that we should allow them and she has no judicial authority on that show. judy sheinlein is a lawyer and former judge. the constentents agree to abide by her judgments.she doesnt deal with regulars that are arrested, just civil cases.
 
I just hope she wasn't like that when she was a real judge. Imagine: you walk into court, try to make your point, and your judge cuts you off. Insults you. Ignores you. She's in power; you're some poor schmuck who's forced into her court room.

I hope the cruelty is for entertainment's sake. Even then, its a little ridiculous. I mean, these people--usually on the poorer side of things, btw--have to put up with some multi-bazillionaire TV judge calling them names and making snarky comments to keep ratings up. I would refuse to go on her show.

It would seem to me there is a $5000 pot. The winner gets his winnings. The remaining money is divided up between the two parties.
 
Her show is meant for entertainment and so she doesn't really have the impartiality most judges have...she's already read through the case files and has made up her mind before the people come to her court...

However, I do like one things she says a lot and have even altered it a little and say my spin on it quite often.

She says, "If something doesn't make sense, someone is lying."

I don't necessarily agree about the lying part, but I always tell my kids, "If something doesn't make sense, the whole truth isn't out in the open yet."

I think she has modified that a bit. I've only begun watching the show recently. She frequenlty says something like, "If something doesn't make sense, it isn't true."

I suggest she change it to..
"If something doesn't make sense...you're probably watching reality TV...or surfing the Internet"
