Judge Not

We need to not judge in lest we want to be judged by God! BTW love meat and can't at all live without it.

Brother, that verse, Matthew 7:1 is an introduction to a subject, covered in the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5, 6 and 7 and except you are a lost man, wishing to close the mouths of the Cleaned, it cannot be applied that way. The complete context of that one verse is from "In the beginning..." through the very last "Amen" of The Revelation, chapter 22. The short context of the verse is chapters 5 thru 7 of Matthew and a shorter context will be all of chapter 7.
A micro context can be found in the first five verses, the first paragraph of chap. 7.

The long and the short o9f the matter is that each of us is to clean, Spiritual Laundry, ourselves before we obey Jesus/God and judge the fruits of others. We are not given a pass on the Great White Throne Judgement because we are or were disobedient and lived like fools of the world.

Interesting.

Interesting.
I wanted to know your age range before I spoke to the wrong generation but you are close enough to my youngest son and daughter's age that you were educated as the, absolutely, essential idea of Subject Context was, with many essential skills were transitioning to teaching the test instead of the book. I was, almost, a graduate of the eighth grade before I enlisted for eight years of military service and three tours, for a total of five Combat Chevrons on my left arm.

Because I was to become an Aircraft Mechanic, I was required to pass the GED and from there spent time, when I sobered up, taking U. of Maryland Courses and studying in the local libraries, where available.

I was called of God in November of 1966 but did not convert until 1/1/'90 but always, in spite of the trash instruction, insisted my youngsters study the books and not the tests. They are a fair crew because they can, every one of them teach any book, including the Bible because they, all, understand that words give other words meaning not found in the dictionary. i.e. It is pouring cats and dogs outside! This does not mean there are puppys and kittens pouring from the sky and laying dead in the streets.

Words are really fun.

I'm having another late night up.

G'day Brother Eugene!

Unless your righteousness exceeds - I think the Pharisees were focused on the external emphasis and obedience towards the Law without a proper inward attitude. In the following verses God restores the true nature of the Law, demanding total and radical holiness, but with the intent of the law which includes an awareness of the need for grace and dependence on God. It is worthwhile to keep in mind that Jesus does not alter, replace, of nullify the former commands in Matthew 5:20, but rather established their true intent.

To answer your question, more precisely, it is the alien righteousness of Christ we need to enter the kingdom of heaven. It is Christ that saves through faith. The saving power resides exclusively, not in the act of faith or the attitude of faith or nature of faith, but in the object of faith. Further, Regeneration is an axiom throughout the Scriptures, both OT and NT, Ezekiel 36:25-27 states the heart of flesh makes possible receptiveness and obedience to the Word of God.

25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. 26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.

Your thoughts brother Eugene?

God bless,
William
William,
I answered your question but before I mistakenly sent the answer that I crewed a UH1H Huey to your Private Message Mail Box, I sent you a copy of what I remembered of an exchange with a Commander in the Navy. Read it and you will know, right away, why I used the PM System here.

If we judge then we are being judged by God. So it is best to leave the judging to Him as well as the jury!

Hi youngster,
Somebody has lied to you and that should never happen but we do live in a corrupt world. You, I, my wife, every lost person in this world and every saved person in this world will be judged at one of the two seats of judgement. You statement just shouts Matthew 7:1, error, error, error!

The World, a.k.a. the Lost People, have dragged that, single, verse out of context in their effort to silence the Christ Follower's witness and for no other purpose. They have, so, populated the church buildings that we look around us today and it is difficult to find anyone living for Jesus.

Matt. 7:1 is the introduction to a topic Jesus is discussing in the Sermon on the Mount. This has been so misused by so many for so long and is so commonly heard that it is no longer, in people's minds, connected to what is being expressed in chapters five and six but that is one serious error to be guilty of making.

Jesus, the Second Person of the God Head, the Son of Father God, God in the flesh of a man, can not any where in scripture be found not speaking thoughtfully. Jesus was very structured when He addressed anyone and here He is speaking to every person in the world, then and now.

I do pray you will read the entire Sermon but I will deal only with chapter 7 here. In the first paragraph:
Mat 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Mat 7:2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured unto you.
Mat 7:3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me cast out the mote out of thine eye; and lo, the beam is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:5 Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
we find that the first verse is not a key verse. No, the key verse I see here is verse 5.

Now I admit that I am not the same kind of Bible teacher as Reba, Chopper, Mike and other teachers on this site. You see, I am a Life Application Teacher and the application here is to get that 2x4, log, that tree stump out of your eye, put your Pride in the trash, and begin to live the Holy Life you are called to live. (1Thes 4:7) (Stay on track old man, that is another sermon lesson.)

We must remove the sin from our own lives before we can, possibly, ever hope to help anyone else walk out of the pits of damnation and crawl up to the foot of the cross. That is the message of these first five verses that mark the subject to follow.

Mat 7:5 Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Mat 7:6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast your pearls before the swine, lest haply they trample them under their feet, and turn and rend you.
Mat 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Mat 7:8 for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Mat 7:9 Or what man is there of you, who, if his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give him a stone;
Mat 7:10 or if he shall ask for a fish, will give him a serpent?
In verse 6 we see why the wisdom Jesus is imparting is critical. Being an old time Texan I did not grow up with our, now, Ferrell Hog Issue but being the grandchild of a German Farmer, my uncles and I did love to bar-b-que Javalena Hog because the Bore was evil and he was all lean Pork.

But believe me, you do not cast anything at him nor at his mate, they want to kill you as soon as you do. These Javalena Hogs are very much the same as many of the people I have witnessed to. I always, before knocking on any door, survey the terrain and before I or my uncles would fire a single shot at a wild hog we made certain we all were next to a tree we could climb, we planned our escape if all went wrong. Likewise, (and I wish I were) any good witness for Christ knows when to shut up and retreat.

Then, seemingly, without warning, Jesus hooks an immediate right turn, so sharp it will jerk your head and pop your neck if you are not careful and goes into the rewards for being a wise witness. Ah, but! Jesus just instructed us on why and how we must judge and not be fooled.

My dad loved old sayings and one of his favorites was, "I you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything." This is great wisdom and it is absolute truth but if you stand for anything, you have judged! We will never live a life of any sort without judging some as our friends and some dangerous to us in some fashion.

Praying God' s blessings on your life.

Oh I wonder what confessional would look like if computers confessed their errors?

Buggy computer program: "I have errored. Hopefully it will not be aired. For my survival is on not being terminated and replaced. Better my errors be privite and unknown, then to be publically known and aired for all to see. If the Eros become public, then I I might be like a human with no air. Gone with no time to know why or what happened."

...

On the other hand maybe this buggy computer program fits some real people's fears when they make a lapse of judgment, and try to hide it. Fear of how others will react to what we do in error.
