Not that this could happen but .....

You, a Christian, just died and God meets you are the pearly gate and says, "I have a deal for you. I will take 1,000,000 souls on earth that are bound for hell and cause them to be saved if you will go to hell in their place (for eternity)".

Aside: Matthew 22:39

We aren’t Jesus and cannot do anything that saves another. We can’t even save ourselves by any act.

I don't subscribe to the belief that God makes anyone get saved. :) As such, the entire proposition is flawed. The Lord would be losing someone who truly loved Him in exchange for a million souls who didn't, which would really screw up Heaven, Lol.

Why would I wanna do something like that? :)

That's an interesting question, but our Father doesn't bargain for anything.
I agree with you. God does offer pseudo deals like with Adam and with nation of Israel ... but He knows the results of the deals so it's not like He's taking any chances

Hidden In Him

jasonc
That wouldn't be an offer as none of us would be able to saitate justice

Agrees with everyone ... and I stipulated in the question:

God's will is that none perish?

Great question Fred, Jesus would and in fact did. Would I, I would hope so, but likely not. I have thought about this many times, and really would have the strong desire to, and probably could face a firing squad, but imagine having to die your greatest fear, I don't know if I could do it.

Right and it's necessary to remember this when interpreting scripture, because our Father doesn't change. It's our perception of him that changes,

The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. Rev.11:15

God has always reigned. We simply weren't always aware of it.

Why would I condemn 1M souls to heaven if that is what they didn't want in the first place?

God turned down similar deals by Moses and Paul on behalf of Israel. So, NO DEAL.

Salvation isn't about God just flippantly deciding some people will be saved, while others will not as if they were simply trading cards that could be kept or disposed of.

Would that be a question God would pose or more likely the devil ?

God died for us, to go to hell( death) for us, so we did not have to die. Jesus Christ could do that, because it was NOT POSSIBLE that He could be held in death.

Now if the devil changed the testimonies we have ( to believe that Jesus Christ is life) and we had that life in us ( Jesus Christ who is eternal life is in us) then the question asks could we stay in hell eternally ?

But the answer is no, Jesus Christ was not held in death, nor are we. ( with eternal life abiding in us.)

Also it is a little unaware that hell and death are to be cast into the lake of fire ( eternal destruction from the presence of the Lord, so how does anyone go to hell ( that ceases to exist) for eternity. ( when they would be nowhere and non existent for eternity, as hell is gone.)

Acts 2:24 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.

2 Thessalonians 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

2 Peter 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Revelation 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
