Limits to what the Blood Cleanses

Most of us would say that a man could not be one of God's children and do these things.
I learned that as we grow up in Christ we will be amazed at what we are capable of doing, and which we used to condemn other Christians for doing and were sure we'd never do because we were now a Christian.

I look for the element of humility and repentance now when I exercise my God given right and responsibility to discern whether or not someone is a brother/ sister. I no longer go by what sins they commit

We know this book was written specifically to people who had been or were still, in Judaism. Is it possible that because they were a part of the nation of Israel that they were considered to be sanctified but not justified? :chin
No because the text says they were sanctified by the blood of Jesus. Paul speaks of that sanctification here in Acts...

"...that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me." (Acts 26:18 NASB)

You can be sanctified in the sense that Paul speaks about concerning unbelieving spouses. But if you are sanctified by faith in Christ and his blood you are more than just set apart as fit for intimate relationship with a believer. You are saved.

I wonder if that is the way Peter thought of it when he denied Jesus; I don't know the man. :shrug
And then we have others here saying they are not even saved yet, and will not be unless they remain faithful until the end, and they will tell you all manner of how good they are. Yeah, let's listen to that. I'm sure glad God receives them anyhow once they have believed on Him. They're my brethren that want to put me under the condemnation they subject themselves to, but we're not to despise them and love them anyways. :)
I don't find that the condemnation only comes from some of those on that side of the fence. I hear it on the other side as well. They say that if one commits some horrible sin they must not have been saved when they did it. That if they really had the Holy Spirit they wouldn't have done it. :shrug

Absolutely. There's Pharisees on both sides of the fence.

Yeah I hear you Sister Deborah13, and that's really sad. One of our dear brethren from the other side of the fence of non-OSAS mentioned that we can do anything imaginable after we come to the faith as it were, and boy does he have that right. The thing I see with condemnation is exactly what the friends of Job were up to. I've seen personally, and heard of other pastors suffering terrible disgrace, and but for spiritual brethren they would have gone under. We're truly all subject to fail but for the grace of our Savior. Should we throw rocks or help them back into the cleft of the rock?
Gal 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

I really do see what you are saying and when I only consider this side of the cross, I have to agree with you.
What I am looking at and contemplating is from the other side of the cross.
Abraham was made righteous and sanctified by his faith. Well, faith in what? That the One Seed would come, the One who would be the manifestation of his Redeemer, God. Jesus tells the Jews that He knew Abraham. So if Abraham could be considered justified and sanctified before Jesus blood was actually shed on this earth, I would think that that blood could set apart a people.
Those people, that nation, was God's spouse the scripture clearly says that. So God could sanctify His spouse, just like He can sanctify an unbelieving spouse now.
He was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Rev 13:8

I see the same thing in Job and Job ended up doing sacrifices for them.
