I learned that as we grow up in Christ we will be amazed at what we are capable of doing, and which we used to condemn other Christians for doing and were sure we'd never do because we were now a Christian. Most of us would say that a man could not be one of God's children and do these things.
I look for the element of humility and repentance now when I exercise my God given right and responsibility to discern whether or not someone is a brother/ sister. I no longer go by what sins they commit
No because the text says they were sanctified by the blood of Jesus. Paul speaks of that sanctification here in Acts...We know this book was written specifically to people who had been or were still, in Judaism. Is it possible that because they were a part of the nation of Israel that they were considered to be sanctified but not justified?![]()
"...that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me." (Acts 26:18 NASB)
You can be sanctified in the sense that Paul speaks about concerning unbelieving spouses. But if you are sanctified by faith in Christ and his blood you are more than just set apart as fit for intimate relationship with a believer. You are saved.
