Lineage of Jesus

Why did God choose to have Jesus born from the line of Judah? Judah was the son of Leah who Laban tricked Jacob into marrying. Jacob didn’t love her. He loved Rachael. Leah became Jacob’s wife through deceit. I don’t like Laban. He made his daughter marry a man that would never love her.

Children are not responsible for what their grandparents did before they were even born. Judah is not responsible for what Laban did.

Of course they aren’t responsible. I just figure God would want to choose from something more pure that was out of love.

Because the King line came from the tribe of Judah. King of kings
He also was from the tribe of Levite, the Priest line. Heb.4:14

As we see in Luke 1:5
Priest named Zacharias, doing his course of Abia, his wife was the daughters of Aaron, her name Elisabeth.
Elizabeth was a cousin of Mary's.Luke 1:36

I believe it was understood that Mary's father was from the tribe of Judah, her mother from the tribe of Levite.

But why?

Because God wanted it that way...
There is a reason for everything.
His will be done.
I really don't think he hated Leah, just loved Rachael more.

Rom.9:20,21,
O man, who art thou that replies against God? Shall the thing formed say to Him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
Hath not the potter power over the clay....

Because God wanted it that way...
and God has a REASON for wanting it that way.
There is a reason for everything.
What is that REASON?

Who mentioned anything about hate for Leah??? He had no love for Leah. Racheal was his heart. Leah kept trying to work for his love and she NEVER got it. It was very sad.

James 1:5-6
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

So we SHOULD ask questions to gain WISDOM.

1 Corinthians 2:3 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ

We should want to UNDERSTAND the mind of Christ and not pretend to have wisdom, but seek it.

Psalm 9:10 10 Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you.

So we should seek to understand God if we want a relationship with Him. That doesn’t mean that we’re saying God’s way is s wrong.

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

Because the Messias is to be born from the royal line of David.

As for Jesus' lineage including people you "don't like", I think there is a reason for that. His lineage explicitly includes some who did not have the best of reputations, as well as non-Jews who actually tainted and stained the royal blood line, such as Rahab, Ruth and Bethsabee. Perhaps this is to demonstrate Christ's relationship with the stained and sinful, offering redemption to all, including the sinful and non-Jews.

How is that so since those people were before David? How can they stain a royal bloodline that is already considered royal since it’s jing david?

why did God pick Judah to be the ancestor ?

Genesis 49:10 - Jacob the father of the 12 sons prophesied that Judah and His descendants would always be rulers and the tribe from which the ultimate ruler came from

Genesis 29:35 - Judah's name means PRAISE YAH/God

Genesis 37:26-28 - Judah saved his brother from being killed by the other brothers

Genesis 38:2 - Judah married a Canaanite women (non-Jew) -

Exodus 31:2 - God chose a man of the tribe of Judah to build the articles of the tabernacle - Exodus 38:22 - he built everything Moses commanded

Joshua 15:13 - Caleb was of the tribe of Judah - he and Joshua were the only 2 spies that believed God

2 Chronicles 20:20-22 - the tribe of Judah were successful warriors because they sought God before battles

How is that so since those people were before David? How can they stain a royal bloodline that is already considered royal since it’s jing david?

Because David's line comes from Abraham...

"The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham." - Matthew 1:1

Judah was also willing to sleep with a prostitute and needed to be tricked so Tamar could bear a child.
david was willing to murder the husband of a woman he slept with - 2 Samuel 11:14-17 - but the good thing God said about david is what counts - Acts 13:22

abraham allowed a king to think his wife was his sister and let the king take his wife into his harem as a wife - Genesis 20:2-3

there is no one perfect so God makes His choices from imperfect options

we certainly don't deserve to be saved and redeemed - God's mercy overrides His judgement - James 2:13

How would Abraham stain the bloodline. God gave him the promise.

He didn't, as he was the progenitor. The stains came from his descendants. Again, Jesus' lineage included sinners and even non-Jews. This only demonstrates Christ's relationship with the stained, sinful and non-Jews by offering redemption to all.

Well, he must have liked her, by her baring him so many children, lol.

It also states,
Titus 3:9
But avoid foolish questions, AND GENEALOGIES, and contentions...

Peace...
