The dividing wall we stand by is really something. I am personally interested in finding ways to break it down (it sure received a large crack by Paul, but we try and plaster the crack LOL).
Edit: I better get it together
Ephesians 3:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
Jesus broke it down we have plastered it up

Ask a Jewish person who crucified Jesus, and they will tell you the Gentiles. True; the gentiles held the nails and hammer, provided the cross, etc.
Ask a Gentile person who instigated the crucifiction of Jesus, and they will tell you the jewish religious leadership. True; some jews stirred up the matter.
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. A Jew and a Gentile should find that stone(?) in the wall and remove it.

The gentiles have had almost 2000 years to develop their commentaries on the bible, and I can assure you they now have just about as many traditions as the jewish community. So IMHO it would make sense for a Jew and a Gentile to remove that tradition stone (? I do not know what the wall is made of) dividing us.

If both groups tended toward reading the bible it might be better. I am not against good written and oral information about the Bible, but some of it is not that great and divides us from each other. Jews are divided from Jews; Gentiles are divided from Gentiles; Jews are divided from Gentiles and any number of other combinations. It would not be good to start from square one and just develop a new set of traditions, but honestly the Bible makes it's on commentary in some cases.

Without this thread I would not have seen what I see. Jason sees Jesus in the OT and NT. Do we see all see Jesus or do we see Luther, Calvin or Jewish writers interposed over what the text reads. I talk and write about symbolism. I have to really struggle to not just live in a world of symbols. The word became flesh and dwelt among men (full of Grace etc).
I hope we all work at tearing down the wall. Not cut a few gaps in the wall and assign groups to care for their section of the wall; but get the wall into a rubble condition. A forensic study of the rubble might be ok (?).
Thanks for starting this thread Jason. Maybe I have warped the original direction a little, but I am learning every time I read comments folks are making.
