How many of the thousands of modern scientists that you can list are young earth creationists? My guess: very few.
Well I don't know what you've heard, but "young earth creationists" are rare among Christians. They are only found usually among certain strident Fundamentalist or Evangelical sects, and constitute an extreme minority of Christians.

I am a YEC because its in line with the Bible and i for one agree with it.

I am aware of that, I was referring to John because he is a YEC.

Why exactly do you suppose YEC's are rare CC?

They are rare John, most Christians are most definitely not YEC's. This isn't 500 years ago.

But why? If you trust in God's word everyone Christian should be a YEC.

Because most people live in reality. The earth is more than 6,000 years old, that is scientific fact.

But why would you trust in God's word when it's clearly incorrect in various areas scientifically, mathematically, ethically, historically, etc?

Parts of it are easily proven incorrect if you know anything about the field in question, I don't think that's up for debate.

We can run in circles all day but there is simply no strong evidence supporting a Old earth.

It's only a circle because you know nothing about geology. It's the only scientific field I'm really well versed in, so I can say pretty certainly that there is nothing that even slightly indicates a young earth. Evidence for an old earth is pretty much everywhere you look (except maybe that lineage chart lolol)

Yes, i would expect nothing less from a humanist imagination. There has always been to ways to look at the Geology of this planet, a great flood is the perfect example of why we have strata layers and the "fossil record". the biggest question i can think of is, if there was no flood why do we even have these strata layers? and why are thy different color? and why is like 75% of the earth covered with this strata?

Maybe I'll ask my dad to post something because he is a geologist, but he'll probably just think I'm kidding around that there is actually someone arguing with me that the earth is 6,000 years old and people lived with dinosaurs.

Because indoctrination by the deluded is not up my alley. A mind is a horrible thing to waste away in these classes.

Its great that the kids in Louisiana may actuality learn something now.

EDIT: i did take Geology in high school, and after some of my presentations my teacher became Christian  And he has a major in Geology.

The irony of that statement is almost too much for me, hahah.

They will explain all of your questions with scientific evidence, but you probably won't believe it because it doesn't fit with your preconceived notions.

Being Christian has nothing to do with how old the earth is. It is pure scientific fact that the earth is way older than 6,000 years. If you don't believe that, then you are being willfully ignorant of the mountains of evidence in support of it.

Well when i hear some i might consider it. But after 20 years...no evidence has presented its self.

Taking a college level geology class may be a good start. I wonder how many of your arguments would hold in that classroom? Not many I'm guessing.

LOL Walt Brown beats all!
I showed Walts theory to the GEOLOGICAL REP here. ( i work for the Dept of natural resources) and even he said it was great, and he is the head of the Geo department down here. he even went out and bought Walts book.
