Loving Animals More Than Humans

Lewis

Member
I was surfing and I seen a lot of comments made by people who said that they love animals more than humans. I have seen many of these people myself in my lifetime. And when Michael Vick did what he did, went to jail and then got out and came to the Philadelphia Eagles, the fallout was tremendous. People hated him so much they were calling for his death. Mike said that he asked God to forgive him, and that should have been enough. But no these people wanted to see him suffer even more than his jail term, of 2 years. I have seen articles on the internet where people have said that they love animals more than people. I saw a show on TV where this mother loved her animals over her grown children. Some stupid people are so stupid that they keep tigers and lions for pets and are killed sometimes. Now don't get me wrong I love animals, and I will get angry when they are mistreated, and God does not want them mistreated ether. But a line should be drawn, when it comes to choosing them over another human being. I think people who choose animals over humans are sick in the head. You all should have seen the hate in the eyes of those people who were protesting Michael Vick coming to Philadelphia. Or animal rights activist that say give any human the electric chair who kills a animal, it is something wrong with these misguided people.I love my cat Kimba, and I will protect her and love her and take care of her, but I can't put Kimba's life over a humans life.

a human life is more precious to God then any animal. i dont like what Vick did but he paid his dues and even has donated money to the local humane society. its funny if he raped a teen would these persons be so upset? nope.

He paid for what he did and that's the end of it for me.
People making those comments are idiots.

What was going on at the time of Noah?
Well, God killed the humans and spared the animals.

Was that your point?

God cares about our very soul.

The Bible says this:

Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

The Bible also says this:

Gen 4:9 And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper?

and this:

Mat 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

and this:

Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

There, that should put things into perspective. :lol

Yes Reba there was a lot of animal worship going on. But animals like the dinosaurs were kept out of the ark on purpose.

A long time ago when the earth was green
There was more kinds of animals than you'd ever seen
They'd run around free while the earth was being born
But the loveliest of them all was the unicorn

There was green alligators
And long necked geese
Some humpty back camels
And some chimpanzees
Some cats and rats and elephants
but sure as you're born
The loveliest of all was the unicorn

Now God seen some sinnin'
And it gave Him a pain
And He says, Stand back!
I'm gone to make it rain.
He says, Hey, Brother Noah,
I'll tell you what to do,
Build me a floating zoo.

And take some of them
Green alligators and long necked geese
Some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees
Some cats and rats and elephants
But sure as you're born
Don't you forget my unicorns.

Old Noah was there to answer the call
He finished up making the ark
Just as the rain started falling
He marched in the animals two by two
And he called out as they went through,
Hey, Lord, I've got your green alligators,
And long necked geese
Some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees
Some Cats and rats and elephants
But, Lord, so forlorn,
I just can't see no unicorns.

Then Noah looked out through the driving rain
Them unicorns were hiding, playing silly games
Kicking and splashing while the rain was pouring
Oh them silly unicorns

There was green alligators and long necked geese
Some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees
And Noah cried, Close the door cause the rain is pouring
And we just can't wait for them old unicorns.

The ark started moving, adrifting with the tides
Them unicorns looked up from the rocks and they cried
And the waters came down and sort of floated them away
And that's why you'll never see a unicorn to this very day

You'll see green alligators and long necked geese
Some humpty back camels and some chimpanzees
Some cats and rats and elephants
But sure as you're born
You're never gonna see no unicorns.

I think in some ways its easier to "love" animals more than people. C.S. Lewis wrote about the different kinds of love and the love for animals was a lower sort than either the friendly sort of love or the agape love that humans can show for each other.

Humans talk back. Humans have problems, beliefs, troubled pasts, uncertain futures. People are complicated. A cat, a dog, a pet bird--they're cute; you feed them, take them to the vet, they keep you company, its an ideal relationship if you can't handle actual human beings.

Ah, the Irish Rovers! I used to sing this song, with me best Irish accent, don't ye know, to Viola and Thomas when they were little. Of course I did explain that the song was by an folk band and not in the Bible, but we all loved it.

I see what you're saying Lewis, and I was very angered back when a woman was killed by a cougar in California. She had two children. It turned out that the cougar had cubs. Money started pouring in...and the cubs received far, far more money than the children who lost their mother.

I'm an animal lover, I truly am a softy when it comes to animals...but no, we should not put their needs above that of humans.

Wow and wow again, see what I am talking about, they gave the cougar cubs more support than the woman's children. Now that is very, very sad, and it is also crazy and stupid, by very crazy and stupid people.

Unconditional love is what pets provide us.

The beautiful mountains behind our home... well that is where the dogooders turn the California nice big kitties loose

A few miles down the road is a horse ranch the cougars love foal meat and the rancher can not do anything with in the law to stop them... Mares like other females have a mind of their own ya can't always get them to the barn....

the 3 S's shoot shovel shutup

Lewis you know baseball? Have a clue who Arky Vaughn is? He is an old hall of fame ball player he is buired in our little town... We had a picture of him and his cougar kill from about 1942 on the wall of the store ... Some dogooder lady called about the picture and here came the ranger..... At least he had more sense they she did...
