Generic verses....ha! Since when did ANY Word of God become generic. There are more of course, but if you don't respect the little light from one verse a mountain wouldn't make any difference.
It's generic in attempting to apply it to prove
YOUR point.
Here's an example:
The man whom my wife is currently with quotes this verse all the time:
"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"
Quite generic wouldn't you say?
But when taken in conjunction with the immovable doctrine that God is sinless, This man is indeed provoking God and calling judgment down upon his own head. My God have mercy on his soul.
My case? Again LOL. Multiple scriptures state sin begins in the mind and heart, are SINS, are of the tempter and ALL have such sin, period end of conversation.
Stop trying to shift the focus of the conversation, you seem to find it impossible to admit you may not be correct in your idea of what sin actually is. we are dealing with what started as a very big assertion you made:
that all desire is sinfull
You have made statements like these:
The lust I have for my wife of nearly 30 years remains lust. Spin it or glorify it however you will. I get along with my personal demons on this matter but I also understand from whence it comes. This does not mean that I do not also deeply love her as well.
and then when been confronted and cornered in your assertions by myself and asyncritus you have retreated to positions like this:
I'm not saying the marriage bed isn't sanctified. I am saying that 'more than likely' lust is a pretty big portion of physical sex in any case.
You are not being honest in this debate but rather digging your heals in to a position that is not planing out when subjected to the scrutiny of fellowship.
You have also attacked myself a number of times and even gone as far as saying that I make excuses and coverups for Satan.
Not all desire is sin!
Simple. Period
