ugh. reality...bites.

mama and dad are going to her specialist for the biopsy tomrrow. i pray things go well. nobody wants cancer, of course. it just seems...so ridiculously unfair. she -just- recently retired. she'll soon get social security. they're finally doing well financially and, of course, by God's grace, I'm no longer the obviously brain damaged, burned out, wretched offspring.

so...please keep mama up in prayer. Thanks. :-)

I know how you're feeling CE, somewhat anyway.
My mom went through this as did all our family.
Hold tight... Keep Jesus close.
Most times it works out OK.

I will pray for you and your mother. Regardless of how this turns out, it may be an important opportunity for you and your parents. When my first wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, we were both so thankful that our belief systems were already solidly in place and did not have to be "invented" on the fly. The doctors and staff were astonished at the way my wife handled her diagnosis and seven years of treatments. "We didn't counsel Beverly, she counseled us," the director of the social services section at the cancer center told me after she had died. As bizarre as it sounds, we also agreed that those seven years were absolutely the best and most precious of our 33-year marriage. So be thankful if the biopsy turns out well, but stay open to what opportunities may arise if it doesn't. Even if it turns out well, it may be an opportunity for you and your mom to have some conversations you've never had before and your mom to do some thinking she's never done before.

i am kind of hoping this will influence them to reduce their booze intake a bit. I'm not trying to be judgmental and/or Puritanical, just...physically , I think it'd be a good thing.

Other than that...I'm hoping that this will spur both of my parents to use their health insurance to get better health care. Mama was stuck in a ridiculously high presure job, in a toxic work environment (long story...), so...honestly, her job was so all consuming, she didn't have the time to do proper check ups and such. Now, she does. My dad's job is a lot more enjoyable, but he should probably get in with a doctor more often than what he's doing currently.

mama is so relieved. they went off on a lil over night trip. im thankful. God has spared not only her, but really all 3 of us.
