Marriable or Not?

i am representing these questions for the single people out there...;) but anyone can answer, single , married ( share your experiences of what you've found in your spouses that made you married them ), man , woman, or teens..?

What are the are distinctive traits of a Mariable woman or man?

For me , of course one is that He must be a Christian.

Now what's your list ?:)
 
Christian! Soccer lover! Athletic build! Loquacious - positively! Hillarious! Erudite! Perfect? Maybe:loletc
 
Trustworthy, responsible, and stable person.

In short, they stick with you once they made the decision and they take life by the horns and deal with day-to-day things in an efficient and responsible manner, whether its raising the kids, paying the bills, doing what's needed, etc. And it must work both ways.

Source: married for 25 years.

Responsible.
Self-reliant. Don't call the plumber when the toilet is clogged, get the freaking plunger out!.
Willing to get dirty. I like to hunt and fish. This comes with some gore and mess, if you can't handle your stomach while gutting a deer then I'll keep looking.
Adventurous. I like to do stuff that is out of the normal, I want someone willing to go it with me and try new things, and not always physical. If the place serves some crazy animal meat, then don't puke when I order it, because I WILL order it*!
Trustworthy. I plan on working in a field that requires tight lips, when I come home I want to be able to talk without worrying about it getting out to the world.
Other stuff too. Like knows her way around a car, doesn't call AAA when she gets a flat. Oh and gun skills are a must, would be unsafe to live in a house with me and not know how to handle firearms!

*A goal of mine is to sample every edible animal in the world.

Must be Christian, must be financially and mentally stable, must not smoke or drink (socially is fine occasionally) must have a kind tender heart, must be patient, must be family oriented, versatile, must love DOGS and little kids, must at least tolerate cats as I do :) Trustworthy and responsible, with a GREAT sense of humor, if you can make me laugh, you are one funny guy and humor is very important in life.

Other than that, I'm not at all picky!?

must have discernment, and employ it on a regular basis;

must be adult Christian;

must appreciate history...and be able to understand what I mean when I quote Voltaire: "History doesn't repeat itself; man does."

must appreciate reading (how else to study to the Bible?);

must drink coffee;

and I'm not at all picky...am merely convinced these attributes would help towards a peaceful household

You made me smile; especially with the Voltaire and coffee aspects! There is something rather cerebral about both Voltaire and coffee... :)

Yes, regular Bible reading is a must, too.

She must value truth and be honest. She must be motivated and a motivator of others. I want her to be confident and bold, she must be willing to correct me and willing to take correction herself. In addition, and perhaps vainly, she must be what I find stunning and attractive physically.
I need her to be a student of life that is perceptive, intelligent, as well empathetic. In need her to realize her value and power as a woman while at the same time respecting and valuing manhood. She must love me and be dedicated to us while being able to see that the world is bigger than the perspective we view it through.

Hum.......:chin Been a wile since I've had to think along these things, but when I met my wife I knew I'd met her.

Not sure if I had a list, but aside from non-smoker, Christian I wanted someone I could love by way of respect. Some times we don't always know with just the comparisons.

My wife is a good conversationalist. She's funny, adventurous and cute, but as we where dating I would see things about her that impressed me. One of things that I love about her is her compassion and generosity for others, and her heart for mission.

My wife will go out of her way to help someone. She will make a meal and deliver it to people who have a loved one in the hospital, or just had a baby. She will send someone a card or note just because she thinks they need it and they usually do. She is a hands on care giver and a fantastic mother. I am in awe of her. She has taught me, and given me many great reasons to be the best man I can be, to be worthy of her life long companionship.
