Marriage oaths and vows

Most couples I witnessed had sealed the union with some vows, as they stood in front of the pastor and witnesses (God included) and establish a commitment: vows. And they are made in the name of the Lord, too.

I don't get it when the same couple would go contrary to the vows made in the Name of the Lord - Trinity, and get a divorce.

So God has to take a part in breaking the bond, huh?

And some of us had spouses that habitually and unrepentantly commit adultery, in which case God allows the divorce.

I just look at the world through my rear view mirror.

I believe the flesh cannot satisfy the flesh, and all marriage is in vain through lust. Not only marriage but pre marriage relationship also that may lead to marriage.

God is witness. Man is witness.

It is written in scripture do not swear oath or vow anything in heaven or on earth or even your own head.

God originally married Adam and Eve he dont need swear oath or vow to himself as he is worthy and when he does he is worthy, and man is not. From there fall knowone is worthy but Christ who knows what true love is.

Dont get me twisted. Sure people get married but just dont complain with compromise and with a unperfect marriage and divorce and stress and complications because its flesh and flesh.

The Father and the Son( non gay way) is witness perfect relationship and harmony. Example true love no lust for anything just pure companionship and fellowship with each other.

Not sure what you're saying here... Are you saying we shouldn't get married because it involves a vow or an oath before God? Or that we're doing it wrong somehow?

Well it is Biblical for people with high libidos to get married in order to prevent temptation.

Man has allways done it wrong, thats why Jesus come save us from ourselves. Its only cause we talking marriage im speaking marriage. Married or un married no difference.

Oh I see. Yeah, we do have a way of getting everything wrong. I wouldn't say that's a reason to not even try though. Nothing we do will be perfect.

LOL. Tell that to my ex wife. She didn't do so well in the voiding temptation area. :shame
Neither did my biological dad <.<

I don't even understand how it's possible to be tempted to commit adultery, but not everyone is the same.

Most people are tempted. It's in how you handle the temptation. God gave us free will, which also includes the freedom to discipline ourselves and have some self control. Some choose that, others don't care.

That's right, most of us are tempted. Men and women both are sexual creatures, and a strong desire for sex is part of our human condition. Living in God's Grace, coram deo, is what gives us the strength to rise above our human condition.

For myself, it's like....a spouse would be the only person I'd want to get intimate with. (And I could pretty much never get married, be single/celibate for life, and be happy like that.) So the concept of going behind their backs seems odd to me. But I guess it's hard to say what I would or would not be tempted to do without being there.
