Marrital romances

Some time in the past in our family (I think also in the church) we discussed an important issue: marrital romances displayed before our children is quite good. (NOTE: not intimate romances, things like kisses, romantic words etc).

The arguement is, this is one of the ways to teach our children to also love their own husbands and wives and to also demonstrate love. Some were of the opinion that our kids shouldn't be present there. What do you think? I think it's okay...just don't do a detailed one;)

:lol Embarrassing the kids by getting all smoochie and cuddly with each other is one of Steve's and my greatest joys!

Seriously, I think it's good for kids to see that their mom and dad love each other enough to be huggie and kissy with each other.

Yeh, you have to do it before thay get to the "Ewwww, Mom!!!" stage.

Seriously, my wife and I have always been loving with each other, and we've been married 38 years.

Nothing wrong with seeing mom and dad show, appropriate, affection toward each other. It is also a good "teaching moment" in regard to what acceptable to do and not acceptable to do with their siblings, friends, etc...

We do not allow our kids to kiss on the lips, just on the cheek. I have seen other parents think lip kissing as acceptable, but the expectation we are setting is that only people who are married should be kissing on the lips.

I agree. Kissing kids on the lips always seemed a little creepy to me.
