Matt Chandler

We saints are great at pointing out sin in others and yet defend that same habit in ourselves
I suppose this is true in some but no one here is pastor of a mega church so no one here is in that category. Who is a teacher or author, I suppose, among us? They will face greater judgement, it is true.

If we do not understand the mistakes others made that resulted in the fall they experienced, we can never avoid those mistakes. We need to learn from the mistakes of others because we will never live long enough to make all the mistakes ourselves.

That is not unique did you actually know why he was asked?
Same reason my brothers church split to a degree, rude pastor and bullying .

Yet both have new churches . doctrinally neither were out there .

Depends on who you ask on this.

The cursing pastor I can't find out if he did that . I read up on his contraversy .

Escamiated men ,men in general who are feminine ,masculine women .

That's not untrue either .there is that also book sales thing .

If the church cannot identify wolves or hirelings then lives will be devastated. You will not find your attitude in Paul, John or Peter. They wrote about false teachers and false apostles and tried to protect the sheep. They didn’t do as you suggest letting them destroy lives.
I agree with what you said "If the church cannot identify wolves or hirelings then lives will be devastated."

But, we do not have Paul, John or Peter traveling to all the churches today like they did in their time, so if correction does not come from within that particular assembling then where does that leave a church that allows the wolves and hirelings to lead them down a path of destruction.

It is up to each one of us to study for ourselves and to hear the truth that comes by the Holy Spirit teaching us in order Spiritually discern to stand up and question that of what comes from the pulpit that does not line up with scripture. Every Pastor needs to be opened for questioning and correction, but many are to prideful and will not address the questions asked of them as I know by experience.

Well, We actually have it better. We can hear for ourselves what prominent men and women teach, how they behave on stage and so on. As to your question, if christians are naive, including leadership, as to there being wolves and what this means, then it leaves them totally vulnerable. I mean Peter and Paul. actively demonstrated keen discernment knowing the thoughts of those intending and doing wrong through the Holy Spirit. This is missing in church leadership probably through the unwillingness to judge anyone else (a political no-no in our culture.) It would take a mighty man of God to see through what a minister involved in actual sin is pretending to be.

I agree with you. It would be an interesting study to see what would we have to do to become more discerning and sensitive to the Holy Spirit where wrong is being done. There is seeing it and there is knowing what to do about it, if anything. Those are different matters.

With open discussion like a forum people argue scripture but it's ok because one can correct anothers error where I guess I'm a church it's harder.

Leader speaks a message to thousands who then walk out the door and If there was error there was no debate on it. Everyone just walks out believing it.

There are honest mistakes. Cannnot really call them a wolf.

This is where discernment comes in. One point is wolves feed on sheep. They don’t just bark at them.

When one looks at the mega churches and the fall of their star pastor, the thousands who blindly attend, one sees the real lack of the Holy Spirit in lives, including the pastor. I suspect this pattern will continue.
