Matters Of The Heart

If we affect matter through the power of our heart then we are able to rise above the laws of physics and...do all those things that Jesus did, and more? Yes is what scripture says.

When our heart brings forth emotion it gives rise to feelings (such as compassion, gratitude and love) which resonates at the same frequency as the Spirit for God is love and we are to walk in Love (without judgement)...and that is the place where miracles happen.

Does that make sense?

The same applies to spiritual things. I know we rejoice about Christ's resurrection. But Good Friday is a nightmare. To read and dwell about the suffering Jesus went through breaks my heart. That brings guilt too because we did it. As I dwell on it all of a sudden I feel closer to Jesus. I wish He hadn't needed to do all that. Then the logic sets in - I want to accept the sacrifice and follow His teachings as much as I can. That's when the action sets in. Again I believe heart and logic work together although they are separate things.

We sure did. :sad
This is the same direction He is taking me in teaching me. When heart and logic agree and become one, we pray fervently, earnestly, from the heart. This will move mountains and slay giants. (there's those scriptures again, lol!), it's all in there.

No wonder men are trained to suppress their emotions, and they bombard us with television which desensitizes us.

I heard a story once that the reason that there are missing years in the old manuscripts about when Jesus was a lad, growing up...is because it talked about Jesus discovering how the powers worked and spiritual connections and so forth, so Constantine edited it out. Lost knowledge to the west.
I didn't know what they were talking about so much when I heard it, but in remembering this now, it could make sense in this light of these matters of the heart, and how the enemy is leading people away from the truth.

The lounge. Laid back place?

Mississippi what good can come from there?

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil. What good can come from it?

Not much direction in our life comes from our emotions.
Why?
Well emotions swing to good and evil and have no base in and of themselves.

God must have understood the tree. It is way off into the time of Jesus before emotions start to be used. I love the lady with the issue of blood. She knew something.
First she says:
If I but touch the hem of his garment.
Not her garment of feelings and emotions that flip from day to day, but on the established work of Jesus (the cornerstone).

Now after faith brought about healing she used feelings to confirm what happened, because of the faith in Jesus. Not faith in faith, but faith in Jesus. She felt in her body she was healed.

The heart can be deceitful. Not because of what I feel, but because of what the Bible says. No matter what my emotions senses scream or whisper they are not a trusted guide. Oh I hear the scream ( what do Mississippi folks teach anyway)? They teach the serpent said use your senses and be like God. Eve fell for it.

I fight this battle all the time. Will I listen to anger? Human love? Lust? Human compassion?

Messed up heart, but he gives us a new heart. Not by my effort, but by his effort.

John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

The work we do are the continued works of Christ, but on a greater scale nationwide as being one body in Christ under the greatest commandment of love. A greater scale is in that of Matthew 25:31-40 as we are servants and serve others as Christ serves us. Some can help the unfortunate throughout the world with their fiances while others can only give support in prayer. What we have to remember is that their is a greater power in prayer that is joined with those who give monetary support. Both comes from the heart as God answers our prayers through others that can help fiance support to those in need. Our prayers can open the heart of another to be a cheerful giver.

I find within myself that I can not trust my own emotions as they are deceiving, but within the Holy Spirit that indwells me I can trust in the emotions of a renewed heart as faith is not mine, but that of Christ who is my faith.

You nailed it here, well said :
I find within myself that I can not trust my own emotions as they are deceiving, but within the Holy Spirit that indwells me I can trust in the emotions of a renewed heart as faith is not mine, but that of Christ who is my faith.

We can't listen to the negative emotions, that is our flesh screaming at us and not the Holy Spirit. But within the Holy Spirit that indwells me I can trust in the emotions of the renewed heart...my faith is assured and peace comes to my spirit confirming that all is well. Nothing by us, but by Christ in us.

Does what we feel in our heart affect the world around us beyond our heart?

Is what we feel in our heart...our emotions?

I've noticed in my 55 years that, when there is a turmoil within us, it is between the logical mind and the heart. What say you?

I have heard it preached that the distance between the mind and the heart is the longest 18" in the Universe. I always thought that was a thought worth discussing.

Turmoil within us? I'm exactly half English, with a quarter French and a quarter German; all from the northern tips of those Countries. I understand being conflicted and inner turmoil! The French and the English hated each other making war practically for sport, and the Germans hated everybody, lol. (Just levity, that thought does not merit development)

Excellent scripture. But, what does write it in their hearts, mean?

Excellent scripture. It actually differentiates between the Lord's Laws being put into the hearts, and mind (thoughts). I think that's a big point!

Again, a differentiation! Mind, and flesh...our brain is flesh, isn't it? But that would make the mind (thoughts) not a product of the brain. No wonder scientists can't find where consciousness originates in the brain, it's not there! So the underlying question there is, is consciousness in the heart or spirit, or both?

We now have the technology to be able to measure electromagnetic waves transmitted from the brain or heart. We've known for a long time that our (brain) send signals to our heart...it creates a magnetic field around the brain. But now we know that the heart also sends signals to the brain! IIRC, they said it was up to 400 times as many signals from the heart to brain, as there is coming from the brain to the heart. And that the magnetic field of the heart is at least 4 times as powerful as the brains is.

Uh-huh, that's why I haven't taken any of this as gospel truth or anything. I see darkly too, lol.

That's what I thought, but am doubting myself on that lately. Unless maybe...the term "heart" is used in different ways in scripture? One way, the flesh heart, the other way...an unseen heart, spiritual in nature but holds the...state of our being? Something like that...

Emotions do run BP up, also respiration and heart rate...not just pain though, also good emotions, love, gratitude, compassion, that sort of thing. SO here we are at...what creates emotions? Heart or mind?

Our heart can condemn us, so that doesn't sound like it speaks of a flesh heart to me. God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things...so could this be a scriptural hint that, our heart knows things or can think within itself?

"Writing it in our heart" means God is GOOD!

:boing (Emotional response to intellect getting a glimpse of God)

While seeking God as a young man, I came upon the Scripture telling us that in the day we seek Him with our whole heart, we will find Him.

God told me I didn't have a whole heart to be able to do that.

Yeah. Imagine how that hit me.

So in my brash youthfulness I decided it would be a good idea to ask God for whatever it is that He means by "a whole heart;" and HE HONORED THAT REQUEST!

According to His Word, He plucked the stony heart out of me, and gave me a new heart of flesh. I could feel this happen.

I couldn't begin to explain any of this, to say what it means. But I know that my Redeemer lives!

I've heard essentially the same thing. But it raises so many questions! Like...now scripture says that, we war within ourselves, the war against the flesh, right? Scripture also says, as a man thinks in his heart, so is he...So the question is, Does the flesh think and speak to us? My inclination is to think, well Duh, I argue with myself daily, lol. So yes. The bigger question is, (how to put this? lol) is our heart and it's thinking process independent of the flesh's thinking processes?

And who is who when we are speaking to ourselves (thinking)? We are spirit-soul-body, and I thought I had identified that we have three voices in our head, our flesh, our spirit, and the enemy...now I wonder if that is true? Maybe it is flesh spirit, heart?

If we are created in the image of God, then why wouldn't we be triune beings in that way? Each with it's own voice?

Be advised that I am not being dogmatic about any portion of this. Like one wise poster put it...I see through a glass darkly and am probably wrong about some things, lol.

Isn't our "heart" located in our soul? Isn't that "where" our consciousness is?

Two Scriptures that go together:

we have three enemies, the flesh, the world and the devil (I'm having a Mandela effect :sad How is this put? I'm not finding it)

1John 2:16 the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life

So yes our "flesh" certainly has a voice (when we fail to silence it, anyway)

Ha, your funny Edward ! Loved your last remark about 2 billion teenage girls cant ne wrong, lol. Maybe that's why David said,
New Living Translation
Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O LORD.

You know, I could spend lots of time talking about this, but spare time isn't something I have too much of.

Body, Soul, Spirit.... interesting huh? Our body craves food, so we eat. It craves touch, so we marry. Our soul craves love, so we bond. For those who were abused, neglected and lacked nurturing at a young age, they stick a needle in their arm to feel what we feel naturally, but never truly realizing the love we feel which is so easily taken for granted.
And our spirit yearns to be so much more because it naturally knows it is a part of something so much bigger than itself.

Get one out of whack, and there is never peace... there is never harmony.

This is what I love about viewing the trinity as a circle... perfect harmony.

I love the below icon of the Trinity... gathered around the table with the Eucharist in the middle. Notice there is an opening, for all are invited.

I believe our emotions do effect the world around us. If I feel sad my daughter feels sad. Difference is she doesn't know why I'm sad and I do.

Do you get those adverts on TV for Oxfam, world hunger, feed the children etc? When I see them I am overcome with emotion and guilt - why should I have food and clean water and they have nothing? Then I feel hopeless because I can't feed them. That's when the logic sets in. I can help with what I can afford and have the knowledge that many others are doing the same. The heart and logic working together.

Leave it to a woman to teach men about emotions. Who says women can't teach? :rollingpin (Oops I forgot Reba has that patented)

There is an MD that created a radio broadcast, detailing what is known medically about the suffering of Jesus' death by crucifixion as described, coupled with what we can know of the details from history. It used to be broadcast every year on Good Friday. That sure reached deeper than just my mind! And yes, we know Him most closely via meditating on and otherwise sharing in His sufferings.

Thanks for the reply, Sister. I was starting to think there was no interest in these things! I think it's important!

Since I started this thread, I watched a video which talked about it. They said experiments have been done (The Russians I believe) and I forget what they were trying to see, but what they did was, they emptied a test tube, pulled a vacuum on it, so the only thing in the tube was Photons (particles of light). Then they observed their orientation in the tube to see if they were scattered or collected at the bottom or whatever, and recorded that and then they added to the tube some human DNA and looked again at the photons. The configuration was different, so the DNA affected the photons (matter).

Then the removed the DNA and looked again at the photons, and they were still configured as if the DNA was still in the tube!

They also took a group of people and examined everyone's DNA for a baseline and then had them all look at different pictures which evoked different emotions. Some pics evoked sad or bad emotions others were more joyful pics.

And reexamined everyone's DNA again and found differences everywhere, no matter if it were good or bad emotions. They proved that emotions affect our DNA. Different emotion affect the DNA in different ways.

So to summarize:
Emotions affect our DNA
DNA Affects matter!

So in a shorthand sort of way...emotions affect matter.

Wow. No wonder we're supposed to walk in love!

God gave us dominion. I guess He really knew how to do it ... fascinating stuff

How long til somebody figures out how quantum mechanics is involved in these phenomenon?

(Some company came a knocking, lol. My only friend in this town, my neighbor. He invited me to his church tomorrow! I accepted of course.)

Anyway, I've done quite a bit of pondering and meditation about these things. My heart is drawn to the people who live in the war torn areas of this globe and to the people of all other nations. There's people who are refugees, some have had to witness their families being shot down and then houses destroyed, sexually abused and left to wander. My heart goes out out to them, a people so defeated in spirit that they have no hope. Not even enough to cry out to God with. And here I sit sometimes thinking I am having a low point of my life, and I have a roof over my head and food in the frige. So far, the lights are still on, lol. With me with no real way to help these people and too dumb to figure it out Lol...the Lord taught me that, I can pray for them. I can fast for them. I can ask for a portion of their suffering to be put upon me so that these poor crushed souls may be able to have a good day and perhaps use their lightened spirit and burden to reach out to God and be saved. That blew my mind.
In Ephesians it speaks of prayer within the same paragraph as the armor of God. Prayer is more important than most realize.

It was pretty easy to recognize the day that the Lord put a little extra suffering on me. That whole week was bad actually, lol. I hope it helped but that's what He said to do.

It sorta makes sense to me because God is fair, so there's prolly a measured amount of suffering due to each man and woman while on earth. Some may suffer worse tragedy than others, but it would have to be made up in the Lords reward to them or something but it will be fair and just for each. That's a given I think.

So there's ways that we can give even without money changing hands. We don't see the fruit of it, all that happens is you have a very crappy day. But the Lord did promise to not put more upon us than we can bear! And to Pray unceasingly.

Prayer is the 7th piece of our armor. Without it we would only have 6 pieces; not complete. (My place in the Body is an Armor bearer)

Jesus wept.

In conjunction with one of the greatest miracles in the Bible, Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead.

Strong confirmation of your point here, very strong!

Galatians 2:20 KJV
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

If it fit the flesh:
Sword and shield would fit hands warped by nails / spikes.

Helmet of salvation would fit thorn swollen head.

Breastplate of righteousness would fit wounded side that is wretched.

Gospel shoes would fit feet warped by spike / nails.

Loin cloth of truth would fit as we discover our sin.

No, you've got it! It's taking me a while to learn your "language," but I'm getting it. This is what fellowship is, sharing what God shows us; it edifies the Body.

Notice the utter oppositeness of PC, which has the effect of making people afraid to show their true colors. No way can fellowship happen that way, so satan is well-pleased with it.

The "loincloth of Truth" is first explained to us in the Law of Moses, with the High Priest's garb. There is a 'curious ephod,' with a ' ribbon of blue' that connects it to something else. What the Priest wears over his heart is the most detailed teaching God has ever given me.

I would SO love the Church to better understand even just these two first pieces of Armor; we really need it here in America. There is also a definite order here: no matter how strong we are in the other 6 pieces, if the enemy can get 'under' that first piece, we're defeated ...

Our mind has procreative power. "Bringing every thought captive to the obedience of Christ;" there's a lifetime's work right there ... 2 Cor 10:5

Philippians 1:1 kjv
Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
2 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;

In Exodus external clothing with stones would be the remembrance of the people of Israel.

In the New Man the remembrance is deep within with joy, and not just external.

The heart has threads (arteries and veins) with different colors going into and from the heart. Oxygen rich blood and oxygen depleted blood.

Communication with others is now possible. The inner secrets are revealed at times.

Spiritual hearts and minds from / by the Holy Spirit.

The Exodus external visible is converted into an abstract internal love. In Exodus hidden / concealed, but in Philippians internalized and revealed.

I Corinthians 14:24 KJV
But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:
25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

Secrets of heart:

As an unbeliever the heart is not yet filled with the law. The law can be written on stone tablets or in a heart of flesh.

Commandments written in ordinances.
