Maybe the Amish are on to something

The only thing I do not like about the Amish when I lived in PA is that they need to put poop bags under the horses butt. If you have ever ran over horse poop you would know what I mean as it gets all over your car and is disgusting to look at going down the highway. The state did make them put reflectors and lights on their buggy's. There were a few times when it was dark I almost ran them over as you could not see them at night.

I don't see that as a big problem here. They use the shoulder of the roads. Recently, I heard that there is a plan to resurface one of the state highways and the plan includes adding a lane for the Amish to use. It's a safety concern as you mentioned they are difficult to see, even with lights and reflectors.

Same in Ohio when I was there for approx. 6 mos. Buggies were black and the Amish attire mostly black. Very hard to see at night.
