Merry Christmas!

The earliest mention of December 25 as a Christian holiday is a Roman Calendar listing it in the year 354 AD.

And your point being?

I enjoy the getting ready for Christmas. The day itself isn't all that special but all the buildup is.

We can't just celebrate no holidays.
What about St. Stephan's day?
All Saints Day?
Valentines?
Patrick's?

How about celebrating Yahweh's holy days instead of man's pagan holidays?

So celebrating only according to the Old Covenant, as if the New Covenant doesn't exist or has been instituted is what you want?

The New Covenant does not tell us to celebrate Christmas, Easter, All Saints Day, St. Patrick's Day, etc. The Feasts/Holy Days of Yahweh are part of the New Covenant. Paul tells us to keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread now that Yeshua, our Passover Lamb, has been sacrificed for us (1 Cor.5:8). We are to keep them all until they are totally fulfilled.

Well, looks like The Yearly Holiday Debate is underway now.

Here is the TL;DR version, folks:
One side says: The celebration of Christmas and other such holidays is pagan in origin and not endorsed in Scripture, therefore wrong.
The other says: The celebration of Christmas is not inherently wrong simply because some pagan traditions are mixed in and so long as hearts are in the right place it doesn't matter.

The Yearly Holiday Debate is practically a tradition by now (:

While pagan traditions are problematic, what is worse is that parents lie to their children about Santa Claus and about our Savior's supposed birth on December 25.

Because that would automatically mean that you are trying to justify yourself by the law. :lol:hysterical:rofl2
We know different, don't we, jocor.

I'm definitely seeing a late start on Christmas in the stores this year.
Wuz up with 'dat?
Perhaps we can blame it on Inflation?

Yes, inflation is the bank's evil war on Christmas shoppers. Hapless people can't afford as many presents because the bank has inflated present prices yet again. Very astute Jethro. You are a wise man.

My parents were honest about stuff like that.
Yes. The moderators have it marked on their calendars, don't you?
You know it (:
