Okay so folks, it's official:

We have minus 25C windchill today.

(Certainly felt cold when we went out earlier today....)

So who else is really, really cold?

somewhere in the universe its -273 kalvin.

and those in the know that cant be but i want to see how knows what kalvin is.

Yeah well, we lost our power around 3:30 PM on Sunday and didn't get it back until around noon on Monday.
Thank goodness we heat primarily with wood, so it was a nice toasty 72 inside the house :) and since yesterday was a snow day, my son was able to stay home and keep the fire going. I wonder how many of my neighbors had frozen pipes. When I called my son yesterday at 9 am, the thermometer read zero F. outside...

We have a generator for when the power goes out, but with our recent kitchen remodel, our fridge's aren't "generator" friendly and neither are the windows for pulling through the extension cord :lol So, we just emptied the freezer and the fridge and put all the food in boxes and set it in the garage for safe keeping.

I think what I'm going to do is install an extra circuit box and tie the generator directly into that so next time the power goes out, I can move three circuits from the main box to the "generator" box. 2 circuits for the kitchen and one for our well so w have running water. Oh yeah, and my son can run an extension cord from the Kitchen to the TV lol!

That should about take care of it :thumbsup

Do you mean Kelvin? If so, no, that can't be. You can't even get 0 Kelvin (I think it's due to the 3rd law of thermodynamics). I think the coldest anywhere in the universe is just under 3 degrees Kelvin.
