Miracle vs Magic: What is the difference?

People often say mockingly: "so you worship a magical sky daddy". Now they are true for the most part. Yahweh is my heavenly daddy in Jesus Christ's name. And the heavens are usually referenced with the sky, but the heavens are much more than sky. That is the spiritual realm. What they mean to say is "Miraculous heavenly daddy"

So what is the difference between magic and miracle?

From my perspective:

Magic
Illusion. Deception. The will, desire, and lust of man. It leads to destruction.

Miracle
Truth. Revelation. The will, desire, and the love of God. It leads to life.

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. - Proverbs 14:12

Sounds a reasonable distinction that you suggest. I think also that the completion of God's revelation in Scripture was an important stage of things. I.e., ordinarily we do not need to expect miracles (although God's grace may seem miraculous in the general sense). Blessings.

I think if one isn't able to distinguish between the two, they're in a whole lot of trouble.

I also believe that miracles have a purpose. They're not for show.

One large difference I see is when I read about the miracles from God in scripture, all of them result in people praising and giving glory to God, not to any person (unless, of course, that person was Jesus...) I've never seen a slight of hand magician perform "miracles" or magic that resulted in people giving glory to God instead of to the magician. Also, beyond slight of hand and other tricks, I believe there were a few true magicians who are using spiritual powers to perform their magic. This is real magic, not tricks or illusion, but those powers come from other spirits and do not give glory to God.

Nice point

And what about magic vs miracle in their spirtual manifestations?

We know that satan can transform into an angel of light. He will influence the antichrist, or the beast called the man of lawlessness. He will perform false miracles so strong that even the elect would be decieved if it were possible.

And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. - 2 Corinthians 11:14
And magic is a part of demonically influenced religions.

They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to newgods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not. - Deuteronomy 32:17
Magic can also be a spiritual manifestation, yet decptive. In genesis 3, the ancient serpent called the devil and Satan (Revelation 20:2) offered Eve
● The lust of the flesh: she saw the tree was good for food.
● The lust of the eyes: she saw it was pleasent to the eyes
● The pride of life: the tree was desired to make one wise

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. - 1 John 2:16

But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. - Matthew 16:23
While stage show magic is a physical deception seeming to defy reality is somethig that can be explained, real magic is a spiritual deception that is arduous to elucidate.

God's miracles appear to defy reality as well. That's the one thing that magic and miracle have in common. And it is something so wonderful that our mind can't fathom. We may think there's a trick to it, but Jesus Christ did truly perform the supernatural when he transfigured, and also when God raised him from the dead. We can call for God's miracles, but we can't, make them happen. Only God can and it requires our faith. And there are no secret formulas that need to be whipped up, and no esoteric rites that need to be performed. We have to put faith in to God's will. And God's will is also miraculous because when it's not what we want it's better than what we want. It's what we need.

I believe that too. I believe they are prepping the world for the entrance of the man of sin.

Miracles are grace given by God for the benefit of those he bestows them upon and which have no explanation. (rising from the dead, leprosy cured in a flash, parting of the sea)
Magic is for entertainment and can be taught. (Penn and Teller, Chris Angel)
Magik is using occult spirits and powers to false prophesy, gain personal power and fame or for their close associates and destroy the faith in God of those who are shaky in their faith. (Illuminati, Freemasons etc)
Least ways, that's my take on it.

When Satan and the Anti-Christ wow the world with some of their illusions the world is going to be hooked. But at the end every knee will bow to Jesus Christ.
