"Magik" is just an alternate spelling that sicko Crowley made. Not much a difference between magic/magic. There is between sorcerous magic and stage magic.

On the contrary, there are three speellings, probably more if I could be bothered looking at wiki or similar. From memory it is Norse or Germanic in it origin, hence the alternate spelling. Yes, Crowley practiced Magik. Magik's use is solely intended to cause harm to others or to empower the user.(as per sick boy Crowley) It uses summoning incantations to bring forward spirits / demon to carry out the will of the bad dude / dudette.
Magic is used primarily for entertainment and employs sleight of hand, optical illusions, smoke and mirrors and a lot of showmanship (Show-womanship too I guess)

I'm not a follower of it, but from what I've heard a lot of their ideas are that we have the power to control God and demand things from Him, and He is obligated to grant us our wishes. If this is the case, this is false doctrine.
