MMOs

Yeah, I should have taken the time to do that. When I made the Jedi character I kind of sped through some things.

Have you played anything other than a Jedi?

My smuggler is currently on Taris. I think I am almost done on that world. Just a few more quests to wrap up.

I've played a Jedi knight, Sith sorcerer, Republic trooper and Empire bounty hunter.

It shows on the initial screen. U can have 2 characters on each server. for free. Unlimited if U subscribe. Servers are east and west coast and Europe. They have pvp, pve and rp environments.

I guess it would be west coast and rp, as I am in California and am playing a single player campaign, unless I am off base somehow, which is entirely possible.

OK, let me know the server name. Before you select Play, choose the server icon on the bottom left to see what server U R on. They move characters to different servers when some get to crowded, so you might be on a different one, now.

So how do U like playing the smuggler? I was thinking of starting one. I challenged one player to a duel and his smuggler stunned me so many times as he ran away from me that I could hardly get him with my light saber.

:)

You should start a smuggler then. I found out that when you keep having trouble with a certain class in pvp the best way to handle it is to start playing that class yourself. So you will know their weaknesses and their most likely responses to certain situations. And if you play a smuggler you could challenge a jedi (I'm guessing you were playing a jedi when duelling that smuggler because you mentioned a light saber) and see how other jedis handle smuggler stuns. Thus you'd be better prepared for the next time you get to fight a smuggler.

Aw man, I miss pvp soooo much. :crying

It was pretty cool, though, after I started playing the Jedi character I discovered I was not using all of the tools at his disposal. The major strength at least of my smuggler is that he as a virtual shield he can throw up if there is no cover nearby and fire away from a distance.

Yeah, the drawback to a Jedi is you pretty much have to be right next to your enemy to be able to attack, otherwise you are vulnerable, even though you are able to deflect blaster fire.

I think my younger brother was actually one of the beta testers for Star Wars: The Old Republic a few years ago...or some Star Wars online game, anyway.

I personally have never played in one. Probably shouldn't, I have enough media addictions as it is. xD

Good advice, thanks!

Yeah, unless you have a Jedi counselor. Then you can throw stones!

:)

I do like having lightning bolts at my fingertips as a Sith. I get myself in trouble by making morally good choices, though. My companion doesn't like my merciful attitude, saying he'd rather eat them, and Sith NPC's find my choices to save the lives of the weak odd.

He's has joined a renegade group of Siths that use both the light and dark side of the force. He might even defect and join the Jedi later in the game. At least my son says that is an option.

Huh, a bipolar Sith. That would be interesting to play.

I have been pretty much staying the light side in both of my characters. I think I have 50 dark side points for each of them, otherwise they are completely light side.

I do find it odd when one of my choices "endears" me to my droid.

I played WoW for three years very addictively. It absorbed all of my life and my mind. I got into big real life trouble due to that and so decided I'd quit. So with the next major content patch I did quit.
It's been more than a year now but I'm still thinking of it a lot. But returning to playing WoW or any other MMO would be like relapsing.

True, that!

I've recently picked up RIFT on Steam and have been enjoying it.

I just got sucked into Kings Road on facebook. It is the first rpg on facebook worth playing.
