So I was thinking the other time, does being a pastor make him strive to live more righteously or "Christianly" than the others, i,e than non pastors? Or perhaps, should being a pastor prompt one to try to live a good Christian life?

Biblical backup will be appreciated.

Usually more....publicly scroutanized

Every one has an opinion and lets them know it. Especially when it's his kids.

So the PK usually rebells the hardest and ends up hating the church on account of it.

But they should have a Spiritual Fruit filled life. Free from as much error as possible.

How can he lead us if he doesn't live it himself?

1 Tim 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach.

1Ti 3:3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

1Ti 3:4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

1Ti 3:5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

1Ti 3:6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

1Ti 3:7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

And then if they err in the way?

Gal 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Gal 6:3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

The pastoral letters...a good place to start.

1Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed, 2shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; 3nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock." (1 Peter 5:1-2 NASB)

The shepherds of the flock are to be examples to the flock. That pretty much means they have to be on top of their game.

:thumbsup what more could be said as scripture says it all.

A pastor is part of the five-fold-ministry (Ephesians 4:11). They are called by God. Some pastors aren't called by God, but are called by the devil. They are title centered, mantle centered, and full of pride. They have talent and a philosophy of Christ, not a relationship. They do not have the anointing to lead the flock.

Not at all, and not all are given gifts to be a pastor, but we read in Jam 3:1 ASV, Be not many of you teachers, my brethren, knowing that we shall receive heavier judgment.

But....

Unless our righteousness exceeds that of our pastors we shall not see the Kingdom of Heaven. (Rewritten section of Scripture to reflect modern times)

And what church do you go to that you can say that?
