This is one of the reasons I love living in Washington. I get to see that Mountain every day. :-)

I love Washington. I have two sons living there, so I get up once in a while. Being a biologist, I was completely blown away by the Olympic penninsula and the variety of sea life.

Mt. St Helens was a revelation, too. One can read about the scale of devastation, but until one actually stands on the ridge and sees the extent of it, there is no understanding.

You're a lucky guy.

Don't mind my stupidity, but are you talking about the state or D.C.?

Not even the current flubadubs in DC could mess it up that bad. The volcano is in Washington State.

I grew up on the East side of Wa state. I remember when St. Helens blew... We didn't know what was happening and thought the world was coming to an end!!
There is still ash on the side of the road around the twin cities.
