She's an older, wiser, fairly recently widowed Pentecostal lady I've talked to--often daily--since I got out of Teen Challenge over 6 years ago. She's an amazing woman, and a wonderful Christian.
It seems like she's always going through it, or has been for the past couple years. Right now...she's taking care of an elderly lady in her last days (cancer). She's doing it for free because...she's that kind of a Christian. See what I'm saying?
Family issues...wayward grand-daughter, daughter who has decided to cut off all communication. Her older sister recently passed away.
Health...she has to do loads of blood work, which we're both praying will come back normal (or be easy to get back to normal).
I admire her tenacity. She's old school...reminds me that Satan is very real, and very interested in destroying all he can. Reminds me that getting saved is great, but pursuing holiness is a big deal, too.
I think she's OK financially. Not affluent or whatever, but...her (beloved) husband worked on the railroad for a looong time, and she has his pension now, and good health care. They bought a very nice house together before he passed away, and her house payments are small, considering what it would cost to rent a comparable place.
Anyway...she's always been good to me, even when I was living in the haze of "too much electroshock" and even my parents ((understandably)) wanted me out of their way, maybe in a group home or hospital. Things have changed in my life (for the better, Praise God!), but she's always there for me, even when she has other things going on.
So..yeah...please pray.
