My Right To Die

The pressure from the chain of command, often exerted by threat of UCMJ action that is only even an option because every person in the military could be subject to UCMJ action, combined with the pressure of many MOS's, combined with sleep deprivation and lack of food

Should be pondered

"YOUR. ENLISTMENT. STOPS." and "NEW. OPPORTUNITIES." Do you know what I am talking about? You sure are acting like you don't. If you have been in for 23 years you should be well aware of what the UCMJ is.
when wereyou in? prior to the removal of stop loss. stop loss isn't something i wasn't made aware of. you sound like you weren't in. i am part of the chain. i cant recall if i have ever been or have made any soldier do something illegal under the ucmj. dumb stuff that was overlooked for training or the normal do it and ask forgiveness later and even went caught ucmj is seldom unless its to a problem child. which i wouldn't ask one of them to carry that out as i know they wouldn't be reliable.

lack off food and sleep deprivation? hardly. i get MORE TIME TO sleep at drill and or training weeks or schools then i do at home. seriously? in country unless i was on a mission i had over 8 hours of sleep.food? plenty. i can name one time back in 2011 where i from contract issues with dfac that i didn't get enough food. that was taken a care of next year.

The heart is wickedly deceitful. If it can go on, in the system that is set up, it IS going on whether or not you know it. People will push every limit available to them, including even Generals. You are just one person. Have you considered what a person who does not fear God will do in your situation? Well they are. Their outward appearance is irrelevant, along with their rank.

Stop loss was just another stressor. It was also unnecessary. Just like a 19d doing 1 1/2 years in an unarmored Humvee in the middle of an insurgency created by malicious command in bed with private industry was unnecessary. Just like the second time they did it was unnecessary. Just like ISIS was unnecessary.

You are acting like sleep deprivation and lack of food is not a common situation. Not everyone in the military is a POG, and the only time a grunt has adequate sleep and food is when they are not training or fighting (which many were doing the FIGHTING alone for 3/5 years, let alone training at various schools). You can exclude training from that time period depending on which cycle and which school.

Do we really need to add constant threat of UCMJ action on top of this?

As for when I was in, it is irrelevant to what we are discussing and I will not answer the question. Drum roll

I believe people have the right to end their own life should they choose to do so. Especially if death is imminent.
so why then do we try to save an 8 year old? she is a person. the problem i have is that well $$$$$$$$$ will determine by the insurance companies whom is worth life or not.

I said "I" believed it, I didn't say everybody else did.

So if you had brain cancer and you knew as well as the doctors that you are out of here, and you are full of pain, is it wrong for you to want check out. Or should you go on with pain that is completely off the charts, waiting on god to intervene ?

Is it wrong for you to want to check out?If you are a Christian why are you not down on your knees and asking the Lord to help you through this instead of wanting to "check out"?Jesus suffered terribly on the cross why shouldn't we?As for nonbelievers they pretty much do as they want.

If it was me I would try to wait on the Lord, but not everyone is saved. But I am telling you, it would be hard.

In most countries, it is illegal to commit suicide or to have an assisted suicide. So, in the eyes of the law, you life does not belong to you. It belongs to the Government.

Well, despite how anyone is and if dying, I am the one at the bed side telling them they can make it. We have to be careful not to judge though, and each person is responsible before the Lord for their own Salvation (Greek Word for Healing and protection)

Just heard a story tonight about someones Uncle who was suppose to be dead in a week, both lungs full of cancer that spread to all the organs. My Now Pastor found out about Healing, sent that Uncle some tapes from Kenneth Hagin and Brother Copeland and that Uncle listened day and night the few days he had left. It was about 3 days of being shut up in that room with the Word that He came out and made an announcement. He said I am going to live, I refuse to die and let the devil steal from me. Weak and in great pain, He got the revelation.

He started to gain weight back, started to feel a bit better day by day, and just kept that Word playing over and over. Soon He went back to work and lived the rest of his life, not a thing wrong.

Same situation but a different Uncle, my Pastor had. He knew this Uncle more and was able to share the same things to him for his cancer. Gave him the updated tapes and this uncle seemed to agree with him a whole lot more than the last uncle that got healed. His cancer was yet declared terminal but progressing. This Uncle seemed a whole lot more agreeable to what the Word said.

It was just a few months later though He died of cancer. This stumped my Pastor, as it seemed this uncle was going to come out of it with amazing results. The Lord is good through and shows us things that we would not otherwise know.

This uncle unlike the last one seemed more receptive to the Word, but decided that it best to plan his funeral anyway, just in case. The other uncle decided that there was no way possible He was going to let the devil rob him and dying was no longer an option. If God said it, then it was so.

On the outside we don't know everything, and we don't know what a person is going though.

At a church I went to, an amazing praise leader who also came and spent time with me and my son when my son had cancer had gotten brain cancer. I loved this guy. This brain cancer should have killed him months ago at its final stages, but suddenly went into remission. Doctors were stumped, and the Church was rejoicing over the goodness of the Lord.

This praise and worship leader stood up in church and said God has healed me, I am going to be fine. Sounds like faith to me, but we don't know everything.

Well........................................

My wife met him at a card shop and just asked how everything was going, He said He was not sure He was healed yet, despite having no cancer. The doctors convinced him it was just in remission.

I have a word for the Doctors, a More sure Word of Prophecy.

What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
(Nah 1:9)

Fact I quoted that when the doctors told me my son was just in remission... ya, right, you won't see this cancer again, I assured them. God certainly is not a liar, for that we all can say amen.

This praise leader told me wife, "I am not sure I am healed yet."

My wife told me that when she got home and I knew. I knew He would be dead soon. You can't take two sides with the Lord, either you is or you isn't.

So I was going to get up and let this praise leader know a few things and fix our Pastor who should be teaching better. Thank God the Lord stopped me before I made a jerk out of myself. It was not my place.

The Lord said this to me, "He is coming home to me, my people do not understand what it means to accept what I say was a child and believe me, teach them faith."

Nothing I could do, and the Lord was not going to just over ride this mans faith.

He was dead in a few months, and all the church heard was that the Lord was going to heal him. Looked like faith to everyone else, but I knew. So then it went around that the Lord called him home and it was the will of the Lord. Sad God gets the blame for death and pain, but my hope is we can learn better than that to where God gets constant glory.

I ministered to a mother who's child should have lived but died, a women with cancer who just would not listen, but then I have seen people grab a hold and miracles when things should have ended badly.

To the person that is in so much pain and anguish that they want to end their life, I have a word. There is hope, His name is Jesus, and our great High priest has never failed anyone, not one time.

Blessings.

It is not a hard thing to understand, when you know God. You cannot kill, no matter what. That includes yourself.

Actually the word "kill" found in some English translations translates to murder. You might notice that there are times when killing is not murder.

I can not find an instance in the Greek where that is the meaning. Could you direct me to the passage? That is interesting to me and I never heard it although it does make sense.

Whoa this is weird. I have never known Salvation to be defined as this. This makes me question the Greek translators. How can Salvation be defined as Wisdom,Skill?

Strong's Greek: 4678. σοφία (sophia) -- skill, wisdom

... Matthew 13:54; Mark 6:2; Acts 6:10; the wisdom or instruction with which John the
Baptist and Jesus taught men the way to obtain salvation, Matthew 11:19; Luke ...

I think the affliction it is referring to is the purification process. Nahum 1:9 shows the separation from the yoke of wicked counsel.

But with ean overrunning flood he will fmake an utter end of gthe place thereof,

And darkness shall pursue his enemies.

hdo ye imagine against the Lord?

fHe will make an utter end:

Affliction shall not rise up ithe second time.

kfolden together las thorns,

And mwhile they are drunken as drunkards,

nThey shall be devoured as stubble nnfully dry.

hothat imagineth evil against the Lord,

* oA wicked counseller.

* Though they be pquiet, and likewise many,

Yet thus qshall they be * cut down, when he shall rpass through.

sThough I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.

twill I break his yoke from off thee,

And twill burst thy bonds in sunder.

Obey, Honor, & Respect Authority

Romans 13:1-7 (New Living Translation)

1 Obey the government, for God is the one who put it there. All governments have been placed in power by God. 2 So those who refuse to obey the laws of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow. 3 For the authorities do not frighten people who are doing right, but they frighten those who do wrong. So do what they say, and you will get along well. 4 The authorities are sent by God to help you. But if you are doing something wrong, of course you should be afraid, for you will be punished. The authorities are established by God for that very purpose, to punish those who do wrong. 5 So you must obey them, not only to avoid punishment, but also to keep a clear conscience.
6 Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority.

1 Peter 2:17 (English Standard Version)
Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.

Mark 12 / Matthew 22
“Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's.”
