My truck eats waterpumps

I have had to replace the waterpump on my truck three times within this yr. I will be doing it again. All of them are are brand new. This time i will install an actual oem pump. :grumpy

I hope this one will be the last.

WOW! What do you do with your truck? Perhaps you'd better be looking at better quality water pumps. As far as I know, in mum and dad's married life they have never had to change water pumps in a car.

I use it for my paper route. I only buy new ,not remanufactured , water pumps. All three have life time warranties on them. The first one came from napa ,lasted one week, the second from then, same time. The last one from advanced auto. opps make that four times. That one last 3 days. All of them lk from the weep hole. The last one is now leaking from there as well. It may be the hard water, not sure, that i mix with the antifreeze. I will purchase one from the local nissan dealership and redo it nextweek.

I guess this keeps us reminded of when Jesus said that treasures on earth do not last, so we must focus our energy on treasures in heaven. That's what this reminded me of. :study

I will, it used to eat dome lights, come to find out the lights i purchase are really cheap. Just because the box says quality product doesnt ensure that it will be.

What type of vehicle do you have ? 2nd party pumps might not be compatible with your vehicle.

03 Nissan Frontier, 2.4l manual tranny with a/c. I have had to use oe belts as they last longer. I will try the oe pump from nissan when i have the money, 80 bucks plus tax, not counting the antifreeze.

It gets cross continimated with oil in the drain pans. As i have used both for antifreeze and oil changes.
Jason, I can let mine out without contaminating it, and that has went for all my cars.

I got one for you guys. Sometimes, my car won't start. It will turn over and fire for a second and then immediately quit. Here's where it get weird, I'll shake the car and it will start fine.

the starter turns then quits, is that what you are saying? if so then try checking the battery connections what it sounds like is a loose wire somewhere.

btw i got the $89.00 pump. It uses no gaskets only rtv then it has no studs for the clutch and pulley. Fun for me.

if my idea doesnt work try consulting geordi laforge of the enterprise or lt. belanna torres of voyager.

My alternator is going, and the cheapest is $ 119 bucks from Auto Zone, Pep Boys is high too, in the good old days you could get one for around 35 to 60 bucks, also I even rebuilt one once. And then I have to get outer tie rods, and a back passenger side strut, and a IAC valve, this stuff never ends.

cough, Found On Road Dead.

no one rebuilds the alternators in Philly? My hometown has one battery shop that does alternators and startors and batteries.

My alternator( a reman) would be about 280.00.

Yes we rebuild them up here, when I rebuilt my alternater, it was around 1981, but I still remember how to do it. And If I did forget something it would come to me when I start to build it. Starters aren't hard to rebuild as well. The thing is I have gotten lazy. :yes :D :) :) :lol

What year is the vehicle in question? i have been trained in how to rebuild them but never got good at it.It simply isnt very practical for a shop to do that inhouse like it used to be.
