It was mine. I lost it during the Flood. 8-)Soma-Sight said:I found a sea shell on Mt. Whitney at aroubd 12,000 feet once....
Well, this IS a Christian site, so most of us do believe it to be true.
It was mine. I lost it during the Flood.
Jesus clearly referred to Noah and the flood verifying that He too believed in the flood. I guess that makes sense though as He is the One that sent the water.......tomstell said:Well, this IS a Christian site, so most of us do believe it to be true.
I do not see how accepting Noah's story as historical fact has anything to do with Jesus' teachings (which is what Christianity is all about, don't forget).
I was simply wondering whether people saw the Bible stories as metaphors into the nature of man andd God. For example couldn't Noah's story simply be illustrating that God is somewhat powerfull and has a distaste for evil doers.
One of my favorite places to go fishing here in Utah is at Flaming Gorge. In going I pass through Vernal which boasts of dinosaurs found there. Also, on the way up the canyon there are many signs about things found there. One of them states that crocodile teeth are found in the dirt there. Now, this is in the desert, high up and very far from swamps or anything of the like. No crocodile could survive the winters we have here. Amazing dispersion the flood created.Soma-Sight said:It was mine. I lost it during the Flood.
I guess scientists say that shells are found up that high due to glacier activity in the past but the flood is a viable explanation as well if "the whole surface of the earth is covered".

Best post of the thread, so far. :angel:lovely said:The Flood applies to Christ.
He is the door of the ark. The ark is salvation. Those who enter in through the only door will be saved. All things in Scripture are telling of Christ. To reject them, and their prophetic pictures, is to reject Christ. All Scripture is the Gospel. Blessings.
You need to do some more research. The ark has been found. The dimensions are possible and it would fit the animals it needed to fit. Not an issue here at all.peace4all said:Lovely, that is the ONLY viable answer i can get from a christian.
It actually sorta works.
Science cannot explain it. THe ark has never been found. The dimmensions of the ark are impossible.
It can't be a worldwide flood, because it is impossible to put animals on an ark, that would have to be incredibly huge.
Not to mention, I would think alot of christians wouldnt truly believe it, because, why would god just be like, "hey suckers, your sinners, so im drownding you, because I am a loving forgiving god. Wait, i just contradicted myself. woops, I guess ill just drowned all those that figured it out, yet, somehow let peopel know about it and write the story!"
