Noah and the Flood

Just for the record, a true Christian would never threaten you.
Jesus said to love your enemy’s.

This may come as a shocker to some, but God does not play
by our rules. He knows no bounderies or limits. laws of physics
do not apply to the Lord.

I know, but every single person that does threaten ect, sas they are a christian. and that ppl that dont point out sins like they did, arent chrisitans...

Its a sin for me to be an atheist...

Exactly! So way did he go through all that stuff just to (almost) wipe out a species? Years of building an ark, a 40 day flood, the abatement, the removal of the "canopy", changing dietary rules, beginning the precipitation cycle, the gathering of the animals, the moving of the continents, etc.

Why not just click his fingers and vanish them? Why the gruesome death?

So gruesome and horrendous, I'll remind you, he promised not to do it again.

Then, a few years later, the mess is so bad again he has to change all the languages. All that work for nothing.

I sounds like a rather bored deity.

*****

And if he did, or can, violate all the laws of physics, why to YECs always attempt to "prove" the flood occured using the evidence around us (i.e. the Grand Canyon)? If he did violate the laws of physics, there would be no physical proof left over for us to see.

I think he was tring to make a point. He made it all, he can destroy it
as well. Do you not belive that it happened? Or upset that it happened,
sorry I dont know your views.

Sorry I didn't clarify.

I am an atheist...so no, I do not believe the flood ever occured.

Who did He make the point to? Noah? Noah was already convinced, so that makes little sense.

What about those that came after Noah and believed in God? Well, if they believed God made the world, they believe that God could destroy it.

What about those that don't believe in God? Well, without proof of this flood, it does not make a point to these people either.

So it seems like a senseless show of power because the only people it could have convinced died in it.

Actually you are right. God will forgive any sin imaginable except one. That one is denying Jesus Christ as savior. Have you always been atheist?

Actually, the only unforgivable sin is to blashpheme the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 12:31

Next verse says you can be forgiven for speaking against Jesus (i.e. denying he is savior).

And the Bible says that the job of the Holy Spirit is to testify of Jesus Christ and His redemptive work. To blaspheme Him is to turn your back on His message which is to point you to Jesus Christ. Thus, the unpardonable sin comes down to leaving this world without accepting the cross and what Jesus accomplished on it. We are all damned until we accept Jesus Christ. If you step out of this world without doing so, you will remain damned for eternity.

when i was 8 i was in boy scouts. And part of it was to read parts of the bible. We read all the good nice parts. God healed the blind and the lepers. god did miracles, yay.

I read ahead, behind all over (note, this wasnt jsut when i was 8, it was ages 8-11 i think) and it began to scare me... I mean, I was told to use the book to help my judgment. But i dont see how the condoning of rape, murder, and pillage, is gonna be good for me. I was supposed to help old ladys across the street, not burn towns because there are atheists.

I am an atheist that has decided that if i can be shown undeniable proof, I will convert. Which, basically to me, means god coming to the world and saying :hey, im real, so believe in me you heathen:

Funny, He did exactly that. And then He let the romans nail Him to a cross to pay your ticket home. Still you deny Him. If you die in that state you will be lost forever.

The people who died in the flood, died a spiritual death long before
the flood. They were already dead in His eye's .A spiritual death is much
worse than a physical one.

For the record I'm glad to have a God who is not politically correct,
who has the power and judgment to flood the world.

No you wouldn't. If God raised somebody from the dead before your eyes you wouldn't believe.

sure i would, If i knew god did it.

If god is going to play the "i work in wonderous ways, and wont let ppl actually see me" im just not gonna waste my time trying to believe.

If i saw god/budha/allah/ any religous figure appera int eh sky and say "hey world, not just demented peace4all that ate some bad carnival food and is hallucinating, I am real. Watch" and then the religous figure does something. Makes somethign levitate, moves something huge, ect.. I would believe.

to me, 2000 years ago of shotty argument from a book written by other humans, doesnt really work.

What he mentioned was rejecting God. Some may interpret that as blasphemy of the Holy Spirit and some don't.

That's the basic rant of the atheist. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with God:

(John 20:29) "Blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe."

(Mark 16:16) "..but he who does not believe will be condemned."

(John 3:12) "If I have told you of earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you of heavenly things?"
