Obamacare repeal fails in U.S. Senate, 49-51

They might now but the only real problem drivers had here was Texas began using the point system and if you get 12 points in a year, the state removes Your license. Loose it twice and you loose your license forever. that is not true fr te Kamakazi four wheelers except the drive under the influence three times and the rich go to court with their high dollar lawyers and they still drive drunk.
Florida has a ten point system.I'm talking taxed on diesel, red dye and green, not taxed diesel for government and ag.

here is a story that speaks to my thoughts..

A guy was caught robbing a Home depot.. He told the security guy get back or i will stick you i have aids.. this while brandishing a needle
the security guy stepped back ,called 911 .. the creep gets a ride to the hospital and a check up

Deputies said they found him in the area shortly after the incident. He complained of chest pains during his arrest so he was taken to a hospital before authorities transported him to the Orange County Jail.

My point is the government cant, it just cant.. The government is bound by too many rules/regs.. as in one size fits all.
The drug users eat up a lot of healthcare monies... Just maybe if they had to pay out of pocket for care they would think twice.. My daughter has used up some where around 6 rehabs at some one else's expense . the safety nets quickly become traps... she finished 1
example... Last winter she slipped on ice...bad wrist sprain... went to ER xrays exam they gave her a removable brace ... she chose not to use it.. slipped again ice skating in a couple weeks.. more damage more xrays more monies she did not pay... this time cracked ...
She sells and trades her 'meds' this is just one small example...
Some where the tax payer should have the right to say NO more. Not for real health care But for the abuse.
Running off with the rent monies she jumped out a window broke her arm taxpayers again got the bill . Sadly there are more
I'm really sorry your daughter is putting you through all that at the taxpayers expense. Trust me, I understand and identify with your hurt and frustration.

I don't want to sidetrack too far from the topic, but when it comes tto addiction it's not about the punishment. You can't punish an addict clean because the reward always outweighs the loss.

So the question has to be asked. Why does addiction have such a high reward that it outweighs the losses they incur?

Google "Gabor Mate" and listen to his Ted Talk, or visit his site, or buy his book. It will give you insight.

The prescription drug epidemic is out of control and putting addicts in jail has done nothing to address the issue of addiction to curb it's rise. This is but one reason we need comprehensive healthcare reform so we can help individuals and hopefully that will let broken families reconcile, and the addict can live a clean life.

In addition reba , we are still talking a minority. I agree people like your daughter need to be held accountable, but again, it's not enough to justify being totally against something for the sins of the few. Too many innocent people would be negatively impacted.

The aca, since you mentioned medicaid expansion woukd require in 2019 my state to Fully fund medicaid with No federal help.

The state budget isn't even 100 billion ,that math of extending 60 precent of that on indegent care to those who the state doesn't consider indigent is impossible.

60 billion goes to less then a few hundred thousand .
And that's by design. Thank Rubio for part of that.

Listen, the Republicans have been chipping away at this for 6 years and Trump wants to stop the rest of the payments to create a bigger crisis. They have made it clear the past 6 years that they want it gone.

2+2=4. The state of the ACA is due largely in part from the Republicans who have been undermining it. True, the ACA has it's problems, and instead of fixing them, they have been exploited.

To make my point, show me any Republican who has done anythi g to better it.

I have already shown how Rubio undermined it.

That's by design ? Before Rubio dud that the states would pay before that without federal funding. No medicaid is getting federal money.Rubio's plan woukd have me puttung my wife on medicare and myself using the va.

The definition of those in need by obamcare,a healthy man who has no illNess and wants a simple low cost Insurance to cover castrophic care.he simply would go to a local dr and paid cash for those minor issues.yet that wasn't gopd enough.I know people who did that.

Medicaid is getting lots of federal money....

Obamacare was designed to fail. The expectation was it would become so unaffordable for individuals or the government that everyone would be open to single payer. The democrats expected no resistance because the plan was that after obama hrc would have her coronation and could push it through.....so much for the best laid plans of mice and men......the best thing to do is let it crash and burn then sort through the wreckage.......

I think single payer was certainly on the minds of a few of the Dems, but that's not why it's failing.
I posted a link showing the Republicans cut funding etc to the program when Obama was still president. Don't lie to yourself, the Republicans want the ACA to fail, and they have contributed to it's failure. They have been working very hard the last 6 years to have it fail.

It's common sense and public knowledge the Republicans only wanted one thing... get rid of the ACA.

If your honest with yourself, you have to attribute the failure of the ACA in part to the Republican party. You should be proud of those you elected. Myself, I am ashamed I voted Republican and helped put them in office.

But I regress. You should be proud of your Republicans for fighting so hard against the ACA. But you also need to take partial ownership for the higher premiums and deductibles.

Don't believe me? How will you and others hide from the plain words of our president Trump? He wants to cut payments even further which will again raise our rates and premiums.

I am a firm believer in being accountable for ones own actions. That's why I left the Republican party. They sabotouge and people get hurt, but they don't take accountability. Instead they pass blame like many here do.

I am not saying the ACA is. Or ever was perfect. It wasn't. But it has gotten worse while the Republicans held the congressional power to fix it. But they didn't. They made it worse by what they did, and what they didn't do. It's really that simple.

But from the R POV it is rotten to the core; no amount of 'fixing' will fix it. Besides the voters put the R's in office on the repeal obama care promise.......and I have as much faith in the 'we like obama care' polls as much as I believe the 'hrc is going to win' polls they did.

point me to that please, I think I missed it.....though I have a hard time believing anything that would weaken obamacare would get obamas signature.........

Here ya go. There are many more. I just picked this one cause I liked the name of the site. It agrees with what Rubio posted on his campaign website as well as the new York Times and other main stream media outlets.

https://www.google.com/amp/www.thefiscaltimes.com/2015/12/17/Congress-Weakens-Obamacare-Limiting-Bailout-Funds-Insurers?amp

https://marcorubio.com/2016/07/08/marcos-senate-record/

Here, he calls it a bailout. There was another one that was worth about 5 billion. I can find it if I loom harder.

Anyway, the billions he saved the taxpayer were the billions owed to the insurance company. Do you really think that didn't effect your premiums and deductibles. Don't you think that had something to do with the ACA failing?

How is it many cannot connect the higher premiums with the Republican congressional actions that caused said raised in premiums and deductibles.
