the meter is energized .the meter may be 100 year a old ,a few old ones I have seen. and read that look like it.also the service ,the old riser and where the drop would be is a ww2 era one

I have some interest in old scientific and technical devices. Time after time, if I recover the instruction manual, it will say something like "with proper maintainence, this __________ will provide generations of service." They just built them that way.

Today, with technology racing forward faster than we can track, the idea of a technical device being used for generations makes no sense at all. A cell phone built to last for generations would be a waste of resources. The rational approach is to build them to last a few years only.

And in my opinion, we have lost something important thereby.

the meter is an old design type 100 years old and my old job had them ,my,boss remember this type
