Online Bibles

I came across this site today for anyone who is interested. All it consists of is 10 or 12 online bibles but what I liked was it has a feature where you can configure your own parallel bible of up to 4 versions from the bibles they have online. I've never seen this feature before. Online Bible Study

there is another one called Bible NET that has a huge library if different versions and commentary/explanations of a lot of the stuff as you read. Althought the links placed right in the text to the commentary does get rather distracting, and there are links at almost every sentence and sometimes more.

Nice concept, but no NIV?? I use the NIV primarily and like to do a parallel with the KJV. Have you ever tried biblegateway.com? Great sight. About 50 versions to choose from, can set up to 5 to parallel, can choose to have them side by side or below one another. Can have the chapter or verse read orally and view commentaries on them? Options like "use Red Letter or not" Very COOL!! :yes

Of course there is my current favorite computer based, eSword. While it is not an on-line Bible, you do download it. Perfect for those days when you loose your Internet connection for awhile.

Blue Letter Bible is another. If anyone is interested. It is what I use when I am not at home.

Logos.com is another one. But unless you have their software the program is pretty limited. Their software is what I use on my home computer. Excellent. Worth the money.

I also will use esword. That is an awesome project they have done. What a testament to the ability of man to give out God's Word for free. People say that there always are "underlying" costs associated with everything, and nothing can be free.

The Sword project is completely free. A most worthy Bible study tool. And is easy to get around in. I like my current software, but if I had to do it all over again, and found the sword project, that is where I would have started.
