possibly all has to do with regional genetics would be my guessI can go for this in the skin differences. I am still thinking on the facial features.

For_his_Glory got it close by pointing out regional genetics. For a huge part of human history many regions were isolated from outside genetic pools. This means that each region developed specific minor genetic traits that would spread through the population. Certain traits faired better in specific regions, such as larger noses in Africans making it easier to vent heat, blond hair being a sexual attractive trait in Norther Europeans, short and stout statures being more adapted to European Forests and mountains. Its easier to understand if you consider regions like family trees. There are connections to the other ethnicities and races the farther you go back on the tree.I can go for this in the skin differences. I am still thinking on the facial features.
But, if you consider people have been living in those areas for thousands of years after the Babel event then their skin, down through generations, can take on a different lightness or darkness.yes I have been thinking along those lines. Now in my version after or along the way to where people were scattered God must have made the change in their appearance. I can not think living in a place made them change features or colors it had to be Gods works. I am not big on they evolved into those features or colors. Now I could have it all wrong so seeking others thoughts. I pretty much go along with you though.
This would most likely have to do with sun exposure as well, as our eyes are only able to filter out so much light so certain peoples' faces can develop a squinting of the eyes (i.e., asians). The opposite is also true for the people that populated the northern european areas.I can go for this in the skin differences. I am still thinking on the facial features.
If I spend a lot of time outdoors during the summer months, my skin gets rather dark. My brother even darker. Of course, this only lasts for a couple months as the climate changes dramatically during the fall and into winter.Think about the amount of time it took each group of people to have develop their current skin color (thousands of years). Contrast that with when the people you are identifying moved to those same regions (considerably less time), so their skin has not had the time to be conditioned for that climate.
I read once that Asians appearance is the result of larger eyelids not squinting. This would most likely have to do with sun exposure as well, as our eyes are only able to filter out so much light so certain peoples' faces can develop a squinting of the eyes (i.e., asians). The opposite is also true for the people that populated the northern european areas.
If you follow the progression of people migrating throughout the world after Babel you find people moving through Asia, then into Alaska, down through North America, and ultimately ending up in South America.
If you look at people who have lived in those areas for a significant period of time it all makes sense.
That is true, but the darkest your skin can get before it becomes damaged or its ability to retain its shade is based on melanin levels that are genetically inherited. If I spend a lot of time outdoors during the summer months, my skin gets rather dark. My brother even darker. Of course, this only lasts for a couple months as the climate changes dramatically during the fall and into winter.
I too get darker if I spent a lot of time in the sun.If I spend a lot of time outdoors during the summer months, my skin gets rather dark. My brother even darker. Of course, this only lasts for a couple months as the climate changes dramatically during the fall and into winter.
Right, but imagine if you had the same hot climate year round. What would your skin tone be like then?If I spend a lot of time outdoors during the summer months, my skin gets rather dark. My brother even darker. Of course, this only lasts for a couple months as the climate changes dramatically during the fall and into winter.
Okay, I see now and I don't know.Hi Bill I do feel that God made mankind in different shapes and sizes and colors and different features. I may have misstated my question. I was not questioning if God made the differences but when did a man get slant eye or when did a man become white, black brown or red that sort of thing. It seemed to me it had to be after the flood if only 8 souls were saved.
Isn't that how science explains genetic mutations? When a change works to the advantage of the host, it becomes more and more prominent and eventually "permanent?"That is true, but the darkest your skin can get before it becomes damaged or its ability to retain its shade is based on melanin levels that are genetically inherited.
Yes, though the change isn't necessarily permanent. Genes can fall out of favor depending on the surrounding preasures.Isn't that how science explains genetic mutations? When a change works to the advantage of the host, it becomes more and more prominent and eventually "permanent?"
Thanks Rorowhen I do that I edit and remove my comments then save it may look funny but its my way.
We're not talking about someone laying out in the sun catching a tan. We're talking about living in a climate that promotes the body's natural tendency to protect itself. I'll give an example. All, including myself, is just speculation.
There is no scriptures to back each theory.
It is what it is.
Abraham was called the father of many nations.
Is it just Israel?
I just can't see the evolving.
Maybe God did something to each, I don't know.
I just can't see anyone laying in the sun, and it making their offspring tan.
This earth age is only about, 6-8 thousand years old.
And younger since the Babel tower.
We should all, be still evolving.
Just my speculation as all here on this thread.
Love you all
Yes, I see what you are saying, thanks....We're not talking about someone laying out in the sun catching a tan. We're talking about living in a climate that promotes the body's natural tendency to protect itself. I'll give an example.
Every fall when the weather begins to cool prior to the onset of winter I will begin to wear long sleeves and light jackets even when the temperatures outside are still in the 60's. Yet, in February and March when the temperatures climb up into the 30's I'm comfortable and happy back in my short-sleeves again. This is because my body became acclimated to the colder temperatures over the winter and conversely warmer temperatures during the summer months.
If I was to move to a farther north climate such as the north slopes of Alaska where it might remain cooler more often over a period of time I will be able to endure much colder conditions with relative comfort than I do right now. I know this is true because I experienced it when I lived in northeastern MN where the winters are far more harsh than they are here. I have also noticed that since losing 30 pounds a few years ago, my ability to endure cold temperatures has dropped some.
If I lived at the north slopes of Alaska year around or somewhere similar over time I would be far more comfortable if I put on a few pounds. It has been shown that indigenous people of that kind of climate are typically shorter with more retained body fat than those of warmer climates such as near the equator. We all dispersed from the same location when the flood waters receded and yet there are patterns in our body type very much related to the climate we live in.
One last thing. Be careful about looking at our dispersion today. With our ability to relocate within hours we are far more diversified and that changes constantly compared to how we did even 200 years ago.
