In the last couple elections it seems I recall candidates made it a point to mention church affiliation, trying to win votes from that societal group.

From here it seems like things are getting desperate over there.
The country really is divided.
Some of the Senators really do seem to be Christian.
Can't remember their names.

Nothing, from the beginning of the world. The enemy can not touch God, so he picks on God's children because it's the only thing he can do.

God allows persecutuion to happen sometimes, because He suffered first. If we share in His suffering then we will share in His glory.

I strongly suggest reading Bullies and Saints by John Dickson, to start with. Or, read news from during the pandemic and see how Christians and churches violated mandates and what non-believers thought of that. Or, read these forums and see how believers treat each other and unbelievers; it's just as bad on social media. Not even close to "nothing," and that's not taking into account history.

Dont understand why Christians are being persecuted. For real?? Because Christian exposes the heathen and wicked for who they are. Psalm chapter 37, wicked gnash their teeth against the upright. The wicked hate God's word. It convicts them of their sins and wickedness. In nations like iran or Iraq. Christian people are killed. Do you think the wicked want to be around Christian people??. The wicked slander and lie about christianity. Proverbs, the lamp of the wicked will be put out. Those who refuse to repent and reject Jesus as their salvation, will go with satan into lake of fire. Theirs no future for the wicked and heathen. I moved on to other subjects.

It's just the age of the ninny I think. Could we be looking backwards at this? The more we notice, the more we complain. Woe is me, I am persecuted.

but who was it that said it was persecution? And since we do know that everything is used by God as a test for us....

So then, during persecution or suffering, perhaps this is something that happened as a consequence of the Lord's presence? Scripture has a lot of examples of spirits manifesting every time Jesus walked into the room. He got off the boat, there's the possessed man waithing. Into the synagogue, demons everywhere. Manifistations. Every time Jesus is around, things will manifest!

So be looking for Jesus when you're being persecuted or otherwise targeted!
Targeted? Where's Jesus?! I know He is here somewhere.

Yes, but that does not mean that anyone deserves such treatment. I think bottom line that the incidences of it occuring are on the rise. But they are, such as is common to man and such as is to be found in scripture.

It's been like this since the beginning. And it's getting worse.

Christians have, in the past, done some horrific things to other people groups, and continue in some instances to show hatred towards those they disagree with, rather than the love and humility they're supposed to show. You can't say that no Christian deserves persecution when Christians in the West have essentially persecuted others or just treated them so poorly. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, or so I've heard. Some persecution in the West is well deserved; some of it isn't.

In many cases worldwide, it certainly isn't deserved. Outside of western countries, Christians have been the most persecuted people group in the world, for a very long time.

It will get worse in the West. It needs to.

No Ed, I'm not being targeted.
The OP is about how we're losing our religious freedoms - in general.
Some woman got arrested for praying, to herself, in public.

CHRISTIANITY is being persecuted - not me.

I don't care too much what happens to me,

Lol! The thing is, it's hard to tell the man who has a hungry family that poaching is illegal. That is not poaching.

How can that be done? Answer, It can not be done. If I am cold or the wife is cold there would only be a problem if they showed up on the property someday. A man does for his family to the tune of This Land is my Land, This Land is your Land. SO I shoot the deer anyway so that family can eat.

I'm trying to figure out who's more crooked. The Taliban for arresting a muslim woman for not wearing there head scarf or The UK for arresting a Christian woman for silently praying.

I have observed that some post Christian nations are becoming more hostile towards Christianity but they seem to almost coddle other religions.
