[__ Praise __] Poem: Eternal Life

[Poet of Ephraim]

A fountain’s not that which has sprung,
Nor is it found in the spring yet to run.
A fire’s not in the flame that ascends,
Nor in the burnt fuel that descends.
So it is with eternal life…
We have it now and by it survive.
Unless we persist in selfish desire,
To block the fountain and quench the fire.
