Depends on how hard it is. If it leans more towards metal, in my perspective, it sounds like it's tearing the message apart. I'm not saying that it's absolute, just saying that's the vibes I get from metal. If it's more like Hillsong, it's easier to listen to.
I listened to "psychedelic" christian music (look up
I've Been Walking by Earthen Vessel), but after I actually did psychedelics and fell into the deception of
pharmakiea my whole perspective on music changed.
I think you also have to be more careful when listening to rock. It seems like there's a higher chance of getting a perverted gospel. For example Spirit in the Sky by Norman Greenbaum seems Christian at first glance, but the lyrics say "I'm not a sinner, I never sinned" when clearly everyone has sinned. Now that's just the mainstream pop rock music.
But there's also this guy.

The actual thing is about 7 or 8 parts maybe, and can be found
here on YouTube
I don't agree with everything he says, but he has some truth in this one clip. If you researched the occult, you'd see that there is a lot of it in mainstream music that isn't rock as well.
There are no rules on how you should worship the YHWH and Jesus with music, however you should be careful about what's in the music. Be sure that they are scriptually sound.
Though there is something
this video has me interested into what "syncopation" is, which I want to look into, though it's probably an over-zealous theory as this page says
