Post-Trib Model Failure: The "Gathering" of Matthew 24 is NOT the Rapture

I believe the wise thing to do is to read and know the New Testament without Revelation and later one can begin a study of Revelation and always remember that none of what was found in the NT can be changed by what is found in Revelation. I see folks finding something in Revelation and coming up with a doctrine and using that doctrine to override what is found in other places in the NT.

Right. Many people are not well-versed enough in the scriptures as a whole when they tackle Revelation. Not only that, but many are not spiritually sound, also, when they read it and they tend to misinterpret wildly.

Really, some people are so out of touch they dont know what 'soon' means, wierd eh?

Many people don't understand that many prophecies are dual in nature, and the fulfilling is dual as well. these kinds of prophecies have a near fulfillment and a far fulfillment.

It takes a Christian who is in touch to grasp that fact.

Jesus when teaching would jump from the natural to the spiritual and from the immediate to the future and Jesus did not necessarily explain that he had made the jump. Because he taught in this fashion it leaves some areas open as to what he meant.
Matt24 is a perfect example,if we take the position that it all happened in the first century then we have to be less then truthful, on the other hand if we take it as all in the future then we have to be less then truthful(much of it happened in the first century). The only way that produces anything that does not require denial or manipulation is if we believe that Jesus spoke about both the immediate and the future without making a clear line of distinction. If we really look at the teachings of Jesus,He did that all the time.
At one point Jesus said I am no longer in the world while still being in the world, He spoke of Himself being in Heaven when he was standing on the earth,He spoke of Satan falling from Heaven when it had not yet occured. Also Jesus often spoke of natural things while meaning spiritual things.

Of course Allie only you pretribulation raputue hopers are in tune with the Spirit.

I make no predictions. I agree with God's and they are 100% true.

A christian in touch would have understood the 'you' as generic.

Then stop addressing me as Allie and adding jabbing quips. You inhibit good discussion when you do that. It's foolishness.

And there are going to be multiplied millions upon millions, there's going to be close to a billion people that have been trapped in that religion, that over the next few months are gonna to come into the kingdom of God. (cheering) That's gonna happen, you watch and see what I'm telling you. Because its been ... I'm telling you Satan's fat is in the fire he pushed it over the line, and God has moved, and for over a hundred years the United States has been an instrument of judgment in the hand of God. That's one of the reasons we're blessed, amen? I'd like to get in there and walk around a while but I don't have the time but I can tell you this, that thing has come to an end, its over, I'm talking about Islam and every, all that that stands for. That's over with. Now, God is making His move."

False prophet extraordinaire Kenneth Copeland, in a dedication service on 12/02/01 for the new 2000 seat Word of Life church auditorium in Honolulu, predicted that close to one billion Muslims would be saved in the next few months. Kenneth Copeland, Word of Life Christian Center, Honolulu HI,

And ya know there are people silly enough to defend this guy.

Friends, I wish people on this site would be civil and quit piling up on Alabaster. Every Christian has a right to be respected, and I respect you both, Hitch and Alabaster. Please make peace, thank you. God bless. In Erie Scott H.:praying

That explains my defense of all things good.
Well did you defend this and does that make it a good thing :

Where are the millions and millions of muslim converts?

Is defending a lie that same as telling a lie?

Is promoting a false prophecy the same as speaking it in the first place?

Oh ,then you can explain when all this came true ,right? Is there some reason you left the body of dear Mr Copelands prophetic utterance out of your response ? Its Ok I copied it.

Some Christian folks cover up as much as Bill Clinton. Odd how things change when the "rest of the story" comes out...

A verse i will always thank Mom for ...

Num 32:23
But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.

Thought of that verse many times in many places...... Thank GOD!

A preacher can make all the educated opinions he likes, but they aren't necessarily prophecy.

It's funny how people who hate will hang on one's every word, actually looking to trip a person up and and like snakes, cry out, "False prophet!" when they themselves make the same sort of pronouncements in their own circles.

It is evil.

Alabaster are you trying to say that publishing direct quotes of an internationally known speaker is 'looking to trip ' ? It looks like youre saying it is evil and serpentine to expose false prophecy, is that correct?
It is evil.
Sure is listen to it:

Here's the link to the audio clip of the above. It's in MP3 format.

Copeland presented that as though it came stgraight from the Spirit and it is dishonest of any one to claim otherwise, dishonest and pathetic.

It isn't true prophecy. We all talk like that all the time.

It is an unholy thing to seek out to undermine people in ministry by taking out-of-context snippets of what they say and make it into something huge and ungodly. Satan's work is to dismantle the Kingdom and to make believers ineffective.

I prefer to do the work that God has called me to, which is to uphold the brethren.
