Posting this issue across a few forums to see what kind of responses from people.

Hi everyone, firstly, sorry I had originally posted this same topic across a few different forums, this was my first post to this website and I actually thought that might be a good way to engage people. The other posts have been deleted and so it is only this one now. Thank you for all your replies. It is much appreciated, I will take a look through them and reply.

Jesus said of John the Baptist, if you can receive it, this was Elijah who was to come. John came in the spirit of Elijah. Those who have an ear, let him hear what the spirit saith. But, Jesus also said that truly Elijah shall come and restore all things. And like John came in the spirit of Elijah to prepare the way of The Lord, so to shall the spirit of Elijah come to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers. I won't go any further than this at this time.

Needles to say, I was trying to draw a distinction between the spirit of Elijah and the spirit of Christ, and that both spirits are from God, but both spirits are not the same.
No they are not the same.

Like many people, I have fallen into the trap of group think. Its a tempting safe place because it helps to shelter people from criticism and gives them a sense of belonging. I think that is the heart of the issue. People tare down others in order to prop themselves up. The internet has helped to bring non religious people together in a way that hasn't been done before, this can also be said of many other groups. So due to this growth, it was inevitable that the group would become split into different areas of though. A lot of friends I've had that use the term Atheist tend to gravitate towards specific you tube channels, writers, and bloggers. They build their views around these people and groups and then immerse themselves.

At one time my Identity was that of a Gay Atheist, So I was dedicated to defending anything Gay and Atheist, and occasionally resorted to rhetoric. I was blinded by my own fervor that I couldn't even hear outside opinions. I've grown up a little and learned that using labels and grops as shields helps to erase your own opinions and thoughts. So now I use labels as more of a starting point and work from there instead of trying to fit the label.

So I think the short end is that people want and identity and want to make sure that people are aware of it. Quite often people will adopt the identity of a group and will tare down those in the out group because of a false sense of superiority.

Its way more fun to just be by yourself sometimes and find your own thoughts. :)

Dear Milk Drops, yes, you are right, I am here for the support. I admit it. I need and want it, but is that bad?

Please help me because these other people out there, which are everywhere now, are making me feel terrible. It is refreshing to hear others thoughts and get strength from the words and sentiments. I need it to fight these rude people out there.

I also watch YouTube, read and blog. I wonder why they haven't thought to spend at least a little of their recreational time investigating God, since it is such an important topic. As equal to any other currently on the web one might suggest. Still, they mock God and religion.

I am spiritual, and also defend Gay people, I wrote in a previous post rather articulately (but is has been deleted form the other forum) that as a spiritual person i try and be non-discriminant. And give everyone a fair go. That means, gay, straight, religious, non-religious, Muslim, Jehovah Witness, you name it.

But we all do need support. Right? That's why I found this website and bothered typing my heart-felt message.

I understand your point about finding my own thoughts, and believe in this and appreciate it. I will, but will also try and better understand myself and this topic while I am here.

Thank you for your awesome reply!

By no means is it bad to come to a place for community and support. We all need it in our own ways. :) My remark was more about people who are devoid of identity without their label. ;)

Rude people can be such a bother, and believe me when I say I understand. I hope you find some good friends here.

I think it depends on the person. There are several bloggers that I respect that are atheists and spend more time with their own investigations and contributions, and some that waste their time just cranking old arguments. Some people just have odd hobbies.

You do have to take into consideration that this is a Christian board and that many Christians are very uncomfortable and not supportative of sexuality, let alone LGBT. Its a hard line between acceptence and tolerance and the church hasn't found its footing yet.

That is awesome and I look forward to reading more from you. :D

The original post describes an onslaught of enemies.

Isaiah 59:19
Describes the flood of troubles we sometimes face.
Finding the standard (leading flag against the enemy - - praise, worship, word of knowledge, wisdom etc. ; it may take several)

I presses post too early. Will post more later.

No wonder I pressed post too early. When I read posts since my prior readings, I found this mini war.

I wish to make a comment and withdraw for a time of meditation (biblical meditation) and prayer.

I Corinthians 12:7
I Corinthians 14:32

I'm sorry, but If you do not know what I mean by the spirit of Elijah, I can not help you. I could try to explain it to you, but my guess is you would not receive it anyway, and it may lend to more of your confusion. If you want to try and understand what I mean by the spirit of Elijah, then go study the gospels and read what Jesus had to say of John the Baptist.
EZ,
That is rude and arrogant, you really don't want to go there. It makes you sound like some of the Banditos I once hung with.

If it came across as rude and arrogant, it was not my intent. Re-reading my comment again a day later, I would agree that I should have thought out the response a little more than I did and should have chosen my words a little more carefully. If I offended you by this comment Kathi, then I offer my sincere apology.

As I mentioned in an earlier post in this thread, there is a topic that I will eventually write on that concerns the spirit of Elijah and the church. It is something that exists as a thought in my mind, but is not something I understand enough of yet that I feel comfortable sharing much of it. I do not wish to confuse anyone by answering a question or by speaking on a topic that I myself do not understand.

I think I got one of the worst internal Holy Spirit lectures.

Philippians 3:13
Forgetting those things that lie behind, and pressing forward. I will dust off the keyboard.

I guess I kinda hide what I believe at times. Oh I quote scriptures and share revelations on the level I am on, but I so refrain from giving hints on some church talk. Church talk? I usually do not try to build on another man's foundation. I do not believe in personal interpretations, but I seek conformation where some do not.

Back to the thread. I listed some banners.

My partial list of how to know God:
1. Romans 1:19-20
Look to Gods creation for hidden information (kidneys show our need to cast down vain imaginations etc.)
2. James 1:5
Ask God for wisdom (not knowledge, but application of knowledge)
3. Romans 1:18
Look for times when God himself judged sin (not what we think). The Law even helps
4. Romans 1:32
Some people judge things to be ok in opposition to God. Romans 2:1 is man's judgement to ok sin.
5. Luke 24:49
You need Holy Spirit for power to witness.

There must be a great need in this thread. May the eyes of our understanding go from hearing to seeing. The greater one is well able to take us to where we need to be.

Continued how to know God
John 1:14
When you see Jesus you see the word become flesh
Colossians 2:9
Jesus is the bodily representation of all of God bodily
If you study Jesus you study the Father, Son, Holy Spirit
Jesus speaks in parables; so much of his public speaking has hidden meaning
When Jesus speaks to his disciples some speech is parable free and literal
The spiritual gifts function in Jesus (you have had 5 husbands John 4:18)

Yes we study the Bible. Yes we study the Word made flesh. We study creation in he book of Job. We learn an ox is about a bishop. We learn seeds are words Jesus sows in our heart.

Mississippi folks are strange.
